Both, but I only use the airbrush for basecoating, all color blending and metalics, interference are hand brushed.

😀 ME TOO! I can’t wait to see him in person. 😀 He looks so ferocious with those red eyes staring right at the camera…like he’s about ready to flame something…or someone! 🙂 Hmmm, I better keep him away from the unis.
He has a “brother” coming with him, a purple version of the Red Wood Keeper, but an extended family would be nice. 🙂

I will have to post a more detailed answere to that question later. I am thinking of doing another tutorial type but for the keeper dragon.
there is a lot of technique used, how much paint is on the brush, the wetness of the paint, size of the brush.
Some times i will webcast while i am painting a pyo, i’ll post next time i am doing that.for any one that had been interested, that Tropical Marbled Tiger griffin is sold.

August 9, 2009 at 6:12 pm #699541Not so late as me . . . 😳 Koishii, he’s utterly gorgeous. There is some serious droolage going on over here! Your PYOs just keep getting better, and that’s really saying something considering how fine they were even at the start. Aargh, I hope we see more Keepers in the store soon! I need to pester you for a commission one of these days.
August 9, 2009 at 10:03 pm #699542Thankies! sorry for the delay. Here is the other one I did for Syn:
Violet Redwood
and side by side~!
lots of color shifting in both!
August 10, 2009 at 2:47 am #699543Oooh yeah. 😮 Although I like the palette of the Twilight Keeper better–it uses some colors that I love seeing together, like the turquoises and blue-greens constrasted against earthy orange–both of them are very nice. I particularly like how you take advantage of the wonderfully detailed scaling of the sculpt, and use the colors to bring those details out. And some of the colors you develop, like that vivid blue along the sides of the Violet Redwood Keeper: wow. 😀
