I haven’t posted anything about this project in quite a while. It’s been put off for one thing or another for two years. This year I said it’s getting done This Year. Well, we’re cutting it close, but it looks like it going to happen. We just got a nice piece of madrona wood for them to play on. All we have to do now is fill the sand box and get the fence up. We have a pond with a waterfall that will get put in next spring. I can’t wait to be able to let the cats out in it.

I’ve had a few friends say that they want to come back as one of our cats. Other friends think we’re nuts. 🙂

December 6, 2011 at 2:28 am #864578Very very cool! You could add them a little tunnel or something to lurk in too 😉 What a wonderful area for your kitties to play!
December 6, 2011 at 6:33 am #864647I’m sure we’ll be adding more things to play on/in as we go. They can hide behind the grasses in front of the deck, but they are blocked off from getting under the whole deck. We do have a tunnel in the house that they play/sleep in a lot.

February 13, 2012 at 12:42 am #873438Here’s a couple of pictures of the pen with the fence up. It’s not entirely done, but it safe to let the cats use it now. We got the kitty door put in since I took this pics. It’s in the window on the deck with steps leading down from it. Three out of four of the cats have figured it out. The three older cats are very cautious, but Lucky (the black one) loves it. By the second day he had decided that the pen is not big enough for him. He would sit and study the fence. On the third day out, he tried climbing it, and several times since then with no success. I think it’s Lucky proof. The only things we have left to do is put in the gate and fill the sand box. We also are thinking about other things we can put out there for them. This will be an ongoing project. 🙂 I’m just so glad to finally be able to let them out and know they are safe.
