Awwwww!! I want iteh bitteh kitteh….He’s SOOO cute! And looks like a total fluff ball of doom! LoL I think I’m just going to smother Louis/Phil untill he either dies or gets rid of his allergies……. 😈
Sorry for the late responses everyone! Siberkh1 and I have been playing with the kitty and I’ve been calling him Stickyhead for the moment, but it hasn’t been determined if that’s his official name yet. I got the name from Family Guy actually, when Brian gave Chris a dead cat for Christmas. It certainly suited how he looked when we got him. He does seem to be responding to it already though, but he’s just a total LOVE for attention, so it might be a coincidence. 😉
Oh, yea, that IS 20 year old Bubba’s in that last picture and that was the before picture. 😆 I didn’t get the after since I was trying to save the kitten from claws of impending doom! Bubba’s is pretty old and has a short fuse when it comes to kitten’s jumping and grabbing his tail with tiny needle claws. LOL!
I’ll post updates on his condition and of course, all the cuteness!!! Thanks everyone!

YESTERSDAY WAS THE WORST DAY EVER IN SO MANY WAYS! My cat Snickers has been gagging constantly for the past 2 days! It started Friday night and I called the Emergency Animal Medical Center in my area and since she was breathing normally and wasn’t wheezing it didn’t seem like an emergency so they said I could go to my regular vet in the morning. I stayed up with her all night and took her to my regular vet at 9:45 am which was there earliest available appointment.
Honestly, she has a lot of problems with hairballs and she’s not throwing up foam or anything to suggest she got into something poisonus, just gagging with nothing coming out, so I’m assuming she must have a hairball stuck in her throat or something to that effect.
SO I go to my vet Dr. Beoduin, but he was out and I got the other guy, Dr. Brusie who also works there and who is TWICE as expensive and a HUGE BUTTHOLE! I had to deal with him two other times and he made me feel like I was the most horrible pet owner that ever lived because my cat was overweight. He told me I was killing her and if she had a stroke it would be my fault, later she ended up passing away of kidney failure… the second time was putting that same cat down which he was EXTREAMLY uncaring and basically was more so annoyed to the fact I wanted a few minutes alone with her after she died since it was an emergency at 3am and he was on call and had to wake up to come. Though, he still wasn’t happy with the $500 emergeny fee he recieved for it on top of the regular costs. He was also in the news paper a few years ago because they tried to take his vetinary license away for putting soem kittens with feline leukemia in a freezer while they were still alive as opposed to uthenizing them before hand. He was eventually cleared of the charges, but just the thought of it wasn’t too much of a shock considering the vet in question.
So a quick background on Snickers before I tell you the story…
She got shots once when she was about a year old and had a seizure, she got shots again a few years after that because she has to have a surgery to remove a fatty, benign, tumor and they wouldn’t operate on her without he shots being up to date, and BIG SURPRISE, she had seizures again. I gave her that Hartz flea medecine a few months back when we were having those flea issues with Terminex if anyone remembers, and she had more seizures. Basically, SHE HAS A VERY SENSITIVE SYSTEM so I try to avoid anything that might irritate her and that’s INCLUDING shots. She’s ONLY indoors and except for the new kitten she has no contact with the other cats in the household since they stay downstairs in my sister’s apartment, so NO she’s not up to date on her shots because she has obvious bad reactions to them. She’s 15 now and has never had any major health issues due to that fact.
SO anyway, when he saw she wasn’t up to date on her shots I got the Rabies speech. He told my cat ever attacked anyone they would have to chop off her head for testing and that would be all my fault since I couldn’t just give her a simple rabies vaccination. He had her history right in his hands and when I told him to simply look at the seizures she had when she had shots previously he just said, well, it’s illegal for me to even look at this cat without a rabies shot. What don’t you understand? He got into about how he could get my cat taken away if he wanted too since I obviously don’t take care of her properly. Then he saw she had tapeworm (probably seeing we had the flea problem this year, I wasn’t surprised) Then I got the Frontline speech. I explained she HAS SEIZURES and I had a muscle relaxer perscription for her to prove it! So I have to bathe her in Dawn liquid or I have to use a flea comb and powder and I got a repeat of the Flea Control Speech! I KNOW!!! The new kitten was LOADED with fleas but is too young for me to put anything on him that’s safe so OF COURSE SHE HAD A FEW ON HER SINCE SHE’S NOT FRONTLINED! HE didn’t find A SINGLE flea on her anywhere, but said if she has tapeworm, she’s obviously infested with fleas, which means my house must be as well and it’s not even safe for her to be returned to my care since I don’t practice flea prevention! At this point I’m almost in tears while my cat is gagging on the table! He squished her tummy and looked down her throat and said he didn’t feel a blockage and given the situaion I described that she lives in, she could very well be gagging on a giant tapeworm! Give me a break!
Okay! siberkh1 was at my house all last weekend and I am FAR from a dirty, or a messy person! I’m am a freaking clean FREAK! I can’t stand for things to be messy or dirty and the thought of having bugs in my house makes me cringe! He made me feel like white trash not even capable of taking care of a pet fish if given the chance!
Then I got charged almost $300 bucks for him to do NOTHING! My cat is STILL at home gagging and he gave me amoxidrop. Correct me if I’m wrong, but that’s for infections and she didn’t have a fever. I have no clue what to do! Just to top it all off, I didn’t expect the huge cost since he didn’t x-ray her or even keep her for observation so when I went to grab my credit card or of the truck I LOCKED MYSELF OUT OF MY TRUCK! I had to crawl through a tiny back window *and sorry to say, I’ve gained a bit of weight since I did that last* I got stuck because I had on a bulky sweater and when I pulled myself back out I WASN’T WEARING IT ANYMORE! I was so humiliated in EVERY WAY! I called out of work and they demanded a doctor’s note so after FLASHING everyone there I had to drag my sorry behind back into the office to ask for a note to give to my boss to prove I was there. Nobody inside the office could even keep a straight face.
Needless to say, dropping dead right then and there would have been a blessing…
I went to Petco and got that hairball oil that is supposed to make it easier to pass hairballs and I called another vet and she said I could give her a 1/4 tablet of pepcid ac to help since she more then likely had a sour stomach from all the gagging, but I don’t know what to do now!
Has anyone out there had a problem like this?!?!?!?!

And I’m sorry to say, but I couldn’t keep a straight face at the sweater going its own way…

That’s inexcusable. Ask for an itemized bill, see what in the hell he’s charged you $300 for if he didn’t do anything. If there are things on that bill that he didn’t perform, contest them with the clinic or your credit card company.
I don’t know what area you live in, but the most I’ve ever paid for a simple office visit was $50 and that was at the UIUC’s vet school, where prices are outrageous. Amoxidrops don’t cost that much either. None of the clinics I worked for ever charged more than $40 for an exam. And it sounds like all he ever did was an exam.
I would find the licensing board in your area and complain, complain, complain.

We have a real good small town vet who is nothing but caring and gives me discounts when ever he can so i have not had such an issue before, but I have heard horror stories before.keep your pets away from that guy!
Don’t worry! I’m NEVER going back! I already called and set up a new vet at our Cat Hospital. I wanted to before, but it was just easier at the other vet since they do dogs too, but NEVER AGAIN!

When we had Pixel spayed and she kept chewing out her stitches and opening the incision, they kept her there for a week with no charge to us. Don’t go back to that jerk. Find someone else. I hope you baby feels better soon and you too!

Wow, Drag0n. Sorry about all that, but I agree… dont go there again. That guy sounds like a menace. 😕 I can understand him being upset about the lack of vaccinations, but if the proof that the cat cant handle them is right there in front of him, then what the hell is his problem?? Surely he can see that any other pets you’ve had have been well vaccinated. Even if, there is a nicer way to go about educating those that dont know about vaccines about proper pet care. 🙄
My dog is up to date *since he goes outside, and you just never know what can happen* and once the kitten is old enough he’ll be getting shots too, but of course I wouldn’t sunject my indoor cat who has a history of allergic reactions to them. I REALLY want to dispute the charge and get my money back! 👿

Office visits here are $30 and it’s 30 whether I bring one or both cats. One time Sneezer had a horrible UTI and went back in to spend a Saturday night at the vet, and Dr. Karen even drove him home to me Sunday morning cause she knew I didn’t have a vehical.
Wow! Everyone seems to have such nice veternarians! 😥
