I slaved on this all evening. XD Still not done, though. Painting individual scales is a pain in the you-know-what. Getting them smooth? *laff* >.> I’m pondering antiquing him, too. And I’m trying to decide whether to give him those little white deer eyebrows, or dig a hole for a jewel…or both. Decisions, decisions. What say you?
And, do you think he needs more red scales, or is this enough? Those were the worst. o_o; To say the very least.
June 5, 2008 at 5:48 am #670068Sooo pretty. I think he has enough red scales. He looks beautiful.
June 5, 2008 at 4:19 pm #670069He’s so wow!
I wouldn’t add any more red scales either.
Read my books! Volume 1 and 2 of A Dragon Medley are available now.

June 5, 2008 at 5:48 pm #670071Pretty pretty kirin, kitsunelady! I like the idea of the white deer eyebrows. I wouldn’t dig a hole for a jewel though; after all, why gild the lily? 😉 I think that if you really wanted to put in more red scales, he could use one or two spaced apart from the others, but honestly, I think he looks great as is. *holding breath waiting to see him when he’s finished.*
June 5, 2008 at 7:27 pm #670072Pretty, but I liked him better with plain scales. That’s just me, though. 😉

I actually liked him better with just the yellow scales too, but after I darkened the rest of him to match that one leg I tried it out on, it just looked funny to me. e.e; I’ll probably do another that’s plainer, and lighter though. 🙂 To sell?! XD
I think I’m leaning towards no jewel on this one, like you said, purpledragonclaw. I’ll have to stare at him for a while. o.o

I say…you let me buy him from you…beautiful!
June 5, 2008 at 10:48 pm #670075Oh wow he’s looking good! Really does look like he’s blushing.
June 5, 2008 at 11:00 pm #670076He’s perfect as is! Wow! He’s gorgeous! I’m going to have to see about getting one from you or something!
June 6, 2008 at 12:16 am #670077Hmm…I’ll have to order some more kirin blanks, eh? 😉
June 6, 2008 at 2:11 am #670078Great work! Beautiful colors!

I think so cause I might have to get one from you.
June 9, 2008 at 2:25 am #670080He is, for all intents and purposes, done. =) I just haven’t stuck his felt pad on (had to touch up a few things after peeling the mask off the horn 9_9…), and it’s night, so…better pictures tomorrow. But I figured you’d want to see anyways. 🙂 Yes, I did drill a hole in his forehead and stick a jewel in it – garnet, my birthstone. I was informed that selling this one was out of the question, so I figured I’d do all sorts of experimental things to him. e.e Heehee. I like it. Other than the jewel, the only changes since last time are the eyebrows, some brown antiquing, and a gloss coat. I stunk up the whole house, but…it was worth it. XD
Sigh. And I’ve already thought up two more ways to paint a kirin. I better write it down so I don’t forget before the PYOs are back in the store. e.e;
