September 23, 2008 at 4:14 pm #670189I think the scales look fantastic and I love how it’s a design we haven’t seen before 🙂

twindragonsmum 😀
I’ll have to look rhodocrhosite up. XD But yep, I’ll probably do another agate in a different color scheme…the one I’m getting ready to work on will have a some kind of pattern on his scales that’s centered along his spine, but it’s going to be a fade, not layered, like this…I got the idea from a truck. >__>; I’ve been waiting to do it for a while – the first time I saw the truck, I thought, Wow, that color scheme would look great on a PYO kirin. But forgot to write it down. D: Luckily, I saw it again the next week!
Anyhoo, I’m glad you guys like this one! =D Thanks for all your nice comments.
September 25, 2008 at 9:14 am #670191He is Gorgeous! I really like that design and colors on him.
September 27, 2008 at 4:56 pm #670192Boohoo. I put my Blue Agate kirin up for sale. =( But I’ve got another in progress to comfort me. XD Here’s a first look!
His pattern is a simple version of the Agate kirin – I was experimenting with my airbrush on him. The silver is airbrushed on…I used liquid mask (and saran wrap) to cover the parts I didn’t want silver. It worked, and yet was a pain in the butt at the same time – when I peeled it off, the silver paint on top of the mask flaked off in thin little bits that floated off and stuck to parts I didn’t want it on! Bah. I’m considering trying some of that paper mask stuff…whatever it’s called. Anyhow, his coloring is based on a truck’s paint job that I thought was cool. His fur will be dark (browns).
I also had to resculpt his lower eyelid (the one you see in this pic) with Apoxie Sculpt, b/c it was chipped. t_t I think I did an okay job…I think. I got his eye back in, anyhow! Hah.

September 27, 2008 at 8:58 pm #670195Looks like a nice start! 😀 Too bad the silver paint didn’t cooperate as much as you’d have liked. The eyelid looks good to me!

Thanks! =) I’m actually almost done now! But since I got so much done so fast, I figured I’d just wait until I was completely finished to take pics. e.e Soon though.
