Wow! I am glad everyone is safe and there was minimal damage. One product that I have used for smells is called Odoban. It is pretty strong when you first spray it, but it seems to work and I think it works better than febreeze. Good luck!

      That reminds me…

I had a cousin, when she was in high school, who called her mother at work:
      “Mom, I’m scared.”
      “What now?”
“I put the house on fire.”
“WHAT! What happened?” (turns out she lit the fire in the fireplace – how odd, right? – and there was a dangling covering on the mantle. That’s what burned.)
      “I put it out, mom.”
      “With what?”
      “Bottled springwater.”
“WHAT! Why didn’t you use tapwater?”

      Etc.

No real damage; I think they only needed to clean. No repaint necessary. It was just the way they went about it!

Read my books! Volume 1 and 2 of A Dragon Medley are available now.

So glad that you are all okay, and that it was on the island instead of a wall! 😯
