Ok, something silly, but here’s my question: someone on my husband’s car forum mentioned that there were no ketchup chips in the US, like as in not a flavour. Is that true?

              Just not as strong…

I guess this is one of those strange food differences that we have. Like Canadian smarties aren’t anything like US smarties…

I got addicted to salt & vinegar chips when I was at Uni in England. My flat neighbors were horrified when I put ketchup on my fries – they were strictly ‘malt vinegar’ folks… In the Netherlands, they top their fries with mayonnaise – something I just couldn’t get used to :puke:

When I first moved to the Pittsburgh area, I was appalled when I ordered a salad-they brought out a salad covered in french fries! Here they serve sandwiches with a glob of cole slaw in the middle :puke: I like fries and cole slaw, but as a side dish, not a topping! French fries topped with gravy is also VERY popular here.

The other Canadians are thinking the same thing right now so I will say it…Poutine! French Fries with Gravy AND mozza cheese curds :shout: Nothing better!!

I also like mayo on my fries sometimes, particularly macdonalds “mcchicken sauce” on their fries.

You’re making me hungry! XD Have you ever been to Primanti Brothers? Hubby and I go there whenever we’re up that way. You mentioned fries and coleslaw and that’s immediately who I thought of. Mmm!

Tell ya what I miss from Germany that I haven’t seen here in the states. (I order them online though) Peanut doodles. It’s like a cheese doodle, but peanut buttery. Oh man, those are so good.

Never heard of the ketchup chips though, would like to try them.

I have been to Primanti Bros! They put all the side dishes directly on the sandwich, fries and ketchup and a scoop of cole slaw. You need to put it in a c-clamp just to fit it in your mouth! 😆

I like ketchup, but I can’t even imagine ketchup flavored chips being tasty. I don’t know why, as I like ketchup on fries and baked/mashed potatoes. I’ve never seen them in a store down here but if I do, I’ll give them a try 🙂

I couldn’t live without ketchup on my french fries!
