took me awhile to get an Ebay piece, got one of the mother bears but I got her off a member who was selling her here….
took about two years of bidding and or not being able to afford to bid on high priced pieces of course before that, I bid on some even another mother bear but I always lost on the bids on so I was very happy to get my bear…..

I love Shimmering Embers, though dragon fruit is such a cutie too. No money for it since I just bought a slew of PYOs, but if I *did* have the money I too would be bidding.
Shimmering Embers looks a lot like a more-purple violet flame lol. Neat color, but not sure what I think about it really

Melody was actually afraid it looked closer to Amethyst then Violet Flame. Violet Flame is worlds brighter when you put them side by side though, none of the same colors are even used I think. I mixed the ones for this piece and the matching Sitting Spectral myself actually.
I was paranoid about that though, when it was done so I did put them beside both colors while I was there so make sure it wasn’t really close to either of them. I honestly didn’t even think about that at the time I painted it because the base color was a bright gold and then a coppery red on top of that.
While I was getting the hang of the airbrushes I painted some things that I had previously painted on some PYOs, just so I could already be somewhat familiar of what colors to layer over what. I did the same thing with the Diablo Kirins and Orientals. I used that scheme on PYOs before too. A combination of paranoia and the fact I had never airbrushed before made me gravitate to something I sort of had a grasp on from prior experience so I didn’t ruin a piece with a bunch of weird colors with unfamiliar paints, not knowing how it would look in the end! LOL! I was nervous as hell!
