Hmm…I guess you’re going to ask the seller about it? That’s quite a bit considering that’s a substantial % of the price of the piece…

Probably because they are greedy. What a jerk.
February 7, 2007 at 8:25 am #535514I did email them about it as soon as I read this thread, I was actually about to pay it and thought that it wasnt right, so I looked at the auction and it said 14, so I didnt pay for it and asked for a reason.
February 7, 2007 at 8:29 am #535515The seller could have been trying to cover his/her butt in ebay sellers fees, not thinking the piece would go so high. But still, $20 (minus the shipping) seems exhorbant to me.
February 7, 2007 at 10:15 am #535516Either way, they are not allowed to up the shipping from what they specified in the auction.

I wonder if the seller tried to change it but paypal wouldn’t let him? Since he did have the $8 listed in the auction? I would have thought it was a typo but the second request on a different form also had the $28. Oh well, the paypal invoice was right so I paid it.
That’s it. PayPal wouldn’t let him change the invoice since that’s how he had it in the listing. It’s against Ebay rules for them to do that. Let then know that you know it’s against the rules if they give you any grief. If nothing else, you can threaten to report them to Ebay, and if they still give you trouble, you can report them to ebay.
February 9, 2007 at 1:35 am #535518Got an update from the person I bought the dragon from. Evidently she really underestimated the S&H for most of the dragons and was trying to correct it so she wouldn’t be out money. It turns out mine was fine with the original amount so she sent it priority and insured it (which means I now have to go into Plainfield, bleh) but it was nice of her to insure it since I hadn’t specifically paid for it. So it seems like I am dealing with an inexperienced seller and not some scam artist. I will say she has sent me several emails and messages so it seems like she is trying hard. Figured I would post an update because she is selling quite a few dragons and other forum members may have bought from her.
