As Appaloosa Llamas?
Love him and hope he’s really lucky!January 30, 2010 at 3:55 am #500172January 30, 2010 at 5:17 am #804343http://www.llamaweb.com/about/colorpics.html
Melody, paint a calico Llama.
January 30, 2010 at 3:45 pm #804344That’s interesting. They seem to have the same base colors as horses. Love the Agouti the best!
I’ve seen one Calico horse… Fugly looking thing, really unusual.
I wonder if there are Brindle Llamas… Or Dun? That would be interesting!January 30, 2010 at 6:14 pm #804345calico… lol.. that would be weird! 😀
January 30, 2010 at 6:31 pm #804346I’ll see if I can find the picture…
January 30, 2010 at 7:22 pm #804347OK, the only Calico horse I’ve seen… I know the pictures are small, but I’ve included the album links if anyone wants the full size:

January 30, 2010 at 10:33 pm #804348😮 what a crazy looking horse!
January 30, 2010 at 10:36 pm #804349OMG! You really weren’t joking! 😮 I wonder what the genetics are on that?
January 30, 2010 at 10:42 pm #804350LOL. I know. He’s unique. The owners as far as I know haven’t had him tested, but the general concensus is that he’s a chimera.
Normally chimeras have a brindle pattern, but other then something really going wrong with an agouti gene, there’s no other explanation that has sounded reasonable.January 31, 2010 at 4:15 am #804351Ack! Gorgeous horse! 😮

But if he’s a chimera, it’s not possible. Bummer. I don’t think he’s particularly beautiful, but I think he’s fascinating.
February 1, 2010 at 4:44 am #804353I know it. He won’t produce anything that hasn’t found its way to a dinner plate before. Sad really. But his color makes it ok… 🙄

February 1, 2010 at 6:31 am #804355That’s a really neat patterning for a horse! I agree he’s not particularly beautiful, but he sure is interesting.
