Aw, they’re sooooo cute!! I can’t imagine someone just abandoning them. 🙁 I’d take one if I could…

Here is a picture of my chow when he was around 2 years old – the face on the tan on looks similar to me.

        Some people 😡

My sister had a similar situation a few years ago when they found a puppy in their new development who had more than likely been a ‘dump’. I’m glad you’ve taken them in, no one deserves to be with out a loving home. They are cute little things.
The Black makes me wonder what my parents dog may have looked like as a pup (Lab cross). He’s a rescue who was wild and uncontrollable outside yet would cower and hide behind the furniture in the house. They’ve had him for 5 years now and now he is Dad’s spoiled best friend 😀
I really hope you can find homes for them!

The gray on the black on looks kinda Aussie. You could have 2 different daddies, and that would explain the differences between the pups. They are a mixes. A female dog can be mounted by more than one male and you can a litter with multiple fathers. The tan one looks either chow, but more Akita…or at least he looks like my friend’s Akita mix. I picked him up in Chicago for her, and then arranged for him to fly out to Oregon to his forever home. She looked all over the country for a puppy she wanted to adopt. 🙂

I have to agree my first thought days ago was Chow X Lab, but I’ve been thinking that they really remind me of some of the Keeshond Pups I’ve known/seen. Particularly my Uncles off coloured one. NOT a picture of Hunter, just a random Net find

Awww!!! FLUFFY OVERLOAD! ^_^ They are precious! Their coats remind me of Josh’s sister’s Pomeranian puppy-but their faces dont look Pom at all.

I’m glad they aren’t poms… no offense to anyone that likes them, but poms are my most disliked dog ever. Followed by chihuahuas. In general, I don’t like any tiny dog.

We still have the dogs. I honestly don’t know what we’re going to do. My dad keeps sending me mixed signals. I know he wants to keep them, but he’s been jobless since October and I don’t bring in enough to even pay my own bills each month. The dog food we buy isn’t the crap from stores. The food we buy costs about $50 for a large bag. My dog, a german shephard, goes thru a bag about once a month. So you can see why money would be a concern. Two more dogs would mean buying $50 food more often.
Also, because my dad wasn’t paying attention, one of my ferrets got out in the back room. They were terrorizing him! He was smart enough to stay under furniture, but he was very scared all that day and the day after. Would jump at any movement and run and hide if startled… this is a ferret that’s never run for cover ever. If they can’t get use to the ferrets, I won’t tolerate them. Cute or not.

Am I right to assume, based on their feet, that they’ll be a medium sized dog? I know they won’t be a large dog.

I’m definitely seeing Chow! Hard to tell whether they’re pure Chow or not, at that age, especially without some sort of size reference (and a guess at their ages), but there’s definitely a good percentage in there! They will probably need an owner who is experienced at grooming, or else willing to pay the pros regularly.

I’d hit up Petfinder.com and do a search for your zip code with, say, a 50 mile range. Then take note of the organizations that come up in the results and contact them. I’m sure some have good placements rates or are no-kill facilities!

They look like generic mutts to me. Fuzzy long hair doesn’t mean “Chow”. There are a lot of breeds out there that have coats like that as puppies. I guess it depends on how big they are, and what kind of dogs are common in the area… given their parents were probably feral or at least, not responsibly owned.

Good luck finding them forever homes.

Puppies are gone. Took them to a no-kill center that does adoptions every Saturday. They will be fixed and checked out before being adopted.
Try as I did, I still became attached to the puppies. So I’m having a bit of a hard time now that they’re gone.

It’s great you found a place, but yeah, puppies have a knack for growing on you! When you miss them too much, hug that poor ferret they terrorized…
