Yes, MGutz, ‘she’ is a stunner! I can only imagine what she looks like up close!
Well I received a pretty tonight–a Red Fire Lap I had on layaway at Astral Castle’s! She is a beaut as well. I’m waiting for my Copper Patina Lap and Fledgling to come and will take pictures of all of them! Nice way to start off the New Year with pretties! 😀
Yes, she’s quite the heartbreaker LFB! 😀 Yes, technically she’s supposed to be a he, but with that coloring she is an Empress. 😉 And congrats on your new Red Fire Lap!

I happened to notice this entry, Yeah , I know, that isn’t dust. It is a problem we’ve been having with the paint occasionally.It gets a sandpapery texture. Was that a raffle piece?no, Dfeathers bought that from one of the ebay auctions.

It’s sort of all over the piece in any area that you would assume dust would settle, so that’s why I thought it was dust. The tail & feet, tops of the hands and shoulders, the crests in the throat and down the upper tops of the chest all have a smeg or something in them. It’s not like the sandpapery feeling some of my other sculptures have, I know what you are talking about and I don’t think it’s the same thing.
Like on the insides of Lap Dragon tails and behind the wings and necks of some dragons is where I notice that sandpaper feeling mostly, but this looks and feels kind of different. Like little fibers or something caught up in the paint or the clearcoat. If I tried to sand them I’m sure the paint would come off all the little raised areas so I just left it. I still love it, but I have her tucked in the back so I don’t notice it too much 😳 Rising Spectrals are my favorite and I FINALLY got one from ebay so I can’t let her go, even with her flaws 😆
