Whomever got that TeaStained Mermaid on eBay….I dislike you intesely right now…2.50 over my bid…freaking hate work…
At least you were closer to the final bid. 😥 I only put $70 on the mermaid because that’s all I have in my paypal account. And I like the tea stained ones so much better than the regular ones too.

Also, I don’t collect the wizards, so I’m not sure if he’s supposed to have something on the top of his walking staff. There’ an indentation in it that might have held a stone at one time, is it supposed to be empty? What do the other ones have? Does anyone have this particular wizard in their collection?
When I discovered what I’d bought I thought I was gonna pass out. 😀
Zelda did a really nice large wizard repair a while back. There’s a thread somewhere about it. I’ll look for it when I get off work.
August 15, 2009 at 3:38 am #754075Picked up this wizard on eBay, haven’t received it yet. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270438917831

Ooh I’d be curious to see that. I just finished my repairs on my wizard–I’ll get pics up soon!
Congrats on that White Wizard Mona, that’s a steal!

Yeah, at that price I really couldn’t lose. I used to have one and it got broken. If this one is in good condition, it is going on a very secure shelf!
August 16, 2009 at 3:17 am #754078He came today and looks fantastic. Super fast shipping too. I’m very happy.
August 16, 2009 at 7:37 pm #754079Congrats, MonaLS, on your new piece!

You might want to try earthquake putty under him too. I have if under most of mine now since I learned about it. It’s sold at places like Home Depot at least out here in earthquake country very cheap for what it can save!!Very nice price though
August 17, 2009 at 6:32 pm #754081What is earthquake putty?

That or earthquake wax. I have some somewhere, although it just may be time to buy some more.
Earthquake putty, wax or gel are products designed to secure items to shelves to keep them from falling off in an earthquake.
August 18, 2009 at 4:42 pm #754084I like the putty best. I was worried about the wax and gel staining the felt bottoms I would imagine there would be some sort of oil used there
I got my earthquake putty at Home Depot for like $4 a packet and used a bit over 3 to secure I think it was like 70 Windstones when I got my display cases. I put a LOT under the 8 Emperors because of their weight. I only used 3 small ball rolled up then flattened out then put the Dragons on the shelves and they have not moved since. The package said you can move the piece back and forth to break it or use fishing line to break the seal
It’s like a heavy duty silly putty
GREAT investment. I think it’s alslo called Museum Putty, they use it to secure artifacts. the packet was only like 4″ X 4″ by like 1/4″ thickAugust 18, 2009 at 6:20 pm #754085Thank you everyone, I will look into it.
August 18, 2009 at 11:25 pm #754086I’m going to look into that too DM, living out here in CA we should be careful about earthquakes and Windstones. Thanks!
August 20, 2009 at 2:16 am #754087I won a peacock lap on ebay for $81! 🙂
It’s not perfect though it has some minor paint chips.
(I did know this when I bid.)
So, can someone direct me to a “repairs” thread because I would like to attempt to fix this myself.
If I can’t, perhaps I’ll see if anyone here does repairs.
Thanks much in advance for the info!LOL , here’s to buying “not-so-perfect” Windstones for those of us with modest incomes! 😆 😆
One thing is for sure, the coloring is particularly lovely on this one, which is what caught my eye.

Thanks to emerald212, I also have a black/gold lap to look forward to! 😀
Oh dear, I think the obsession is already starting…. 😳 -
