Oh my gosh!! I had an amazing find!
I found an ORIGINAL Large Wizard, #601! The one with the brown and rose cape with blue robe. 😮 Astral Castle link–I don’t have pics yet.
He’s so old he doesn’t even have felt, just a test stamp on the gypsum bottom that says “Windstone Editions, North Hollywood CA.” He’s in amazingly good condition, just has two small chips and one medium chip. He’s so heavy that shipping him out for repairs is going to be esspensive, so I’m planning on filling the chips myself. It’s gonna take a while, I want my work on this to be PERFECT since it’s such an old piece.
Melody says that this was probably done before they moved from their first location on Coldwater Canyon Blvd. because of the feltless bottom and color scheme. After that first move, when WS started casting Wizards again, the brown was left off making him 601-B, then the rose sleeves were dropped too but the number stayed the same I believe.
Does anyone consider themselves a Wizard Specialist on here? I’m trying to get all the info on him I can. Also, I don’t collect the wizards, so I’m not sure if he’s supposed to have something on the top of his walking staff. There’ an indentation in it that might have held a stone at one time, is it supposed to be empty? What do the other ones have? Does anyone have this particular wizard in their collection?
When I discovered what I’d bought I thought I was gonna pass out. 😀
Congradulations drag0n! So glad you got that Poad! Yeah compared to over $650, that is a bargin! And congradulations chrisherself for the old wizard! It’s like finding a rare antique! Hope you can fix him up and someone on here is a wizard pro to help you out! 😀

I would love to see pics of the mermaid! I would LOVE to get a moonlight mermaid, but I will have to wait a long time. I am hoping that they will still be somewhat available.

There are times I get outbid on something and get frustrated but then I see who won it and I’m soooo happy for them! I know I’ve apologized a couple of times for ‘winning’ something but it’s nothing personal–we love what we see and go after it. I’m so happy for everyone’s new find! 😀
Congrats, Chrisherself, on the wizard. I don’t believe there is supposed to be anything on top of the staff. He should be holding a crystal ball though. My white one is like that. I’d like to see pictures if you get a chance.

hmm.. I’m not sure it will.. do to all the mess in the store that day.. I had put one in my cart.. then decided against it.. but the gift cert applied to it.. and with my bengal tiger.. I just ended up getting it anyway.. and I have to tell you.. mine is very very black.. with a tiny bit of silver.. I’m not very impressed at all.. 😕 and the mermaid is my favorite..
I will post a picture of mine tomorrow when the sun is up..
