I just got a EmPea Fledgling!
Problem though, I was given the wrong box. Crystal Magic in Flagstaff has a couple of other sculpts at the moment, and one of them is the BlackGold Fledgling. Well, I got the BlackGold’s box for my EmPea D: Will it lower the value of the sculpt? I had them take 10% off the price because of a small paint scratch on it’s base, but now a mismatched box? :
Crystal Magic is the same store someone here got that discolored redfire scratcher. They still have a few other sculpts left, BlackGold Lap, mom, young, fledge, and an EmPea hatching.

Personally on something like a regular production piece I don’t think having a mismatched color box will lower the value of the piece. In fact when I collect data for the database (which is unofficial) I don’t even look to see if boxes or tags are included, because that just gets to complicated.

I didn’t think it would be an issue honestly (cma-sam, my fatherinlaw makes it a big deal when it doesn’t have the tag and original box) so I was just checking incase I should go back and grumble at them. ^^;www.nakaseart.com
It’s really one of those things that are personal preference for each individual.
If I’m buying a piece that has to be shipped of course I would prefer if it had an official windstone box for that sculpt, but I wouldn’t complain if the label on the box didn’t match the color inside. For stores that sell multiple sculpts in various colors I can understand how easy it might be to just grab the closest matching sculpt box without looking at the color marked on the label.
Tags are an added bonuse, but a lot of the older sculpts came out before the tags were added (even Windstone can’t remember when they were added for sure :D). It’s nice on some because if you get one that has Pena in silver/gray rather than a golden color you know you got an even older piece. I actually have a baby ki-rin with a silver tag. Didn’t know it until it arrived either.
I just got the #9 Circle of Cats on eBay! I won it over the weekend while I was gone to a convention. I thought for sure I’d be outbid… again! Squee!! I’m so excited to be getting this pretty piece. It will look nice in the cabinet with my flapcats.
Btw, I got the black and white flapcat with sunset wings over the weekend too. He’s so pretty! Love <3
