I like the colors too
January 10, 2007 at 11:48 pm #524431*grump* I don’t know! It’s too….its’ so…PASTEL…which shells generally ARE, but…I don’t know! It just irks me when I look at it!! 😕
Yeah, it’s a big one…^_^ I about had a heart attack when Melody handed it to me. I was supposed to paint it there at the factory, but I was WAY too chicken. I spend hours thinking about something before I paint it – it’s terrifying to think of painting something right there on the spot! Plus, I’ve never used an airbrush before…
These big guys are really heavy! But they don’t seem too hard to paint."He that breaks a thing to find out what it is has left the path of wisdom."
-J R R TolkienJanuary 10, 2007 at 11:51 pm #524432LOL! No pressure, hu? Did they tell you what they were gonna cost when they gave it too you? I am hoping not more than $60.
January 10, 2007 at 11:55 pm #524433Nope – when she gave it to me all she said was that they definitely weren’t ready to sell yet. I don’t know what that means in terms of how long until they come out…she asked for a name for it in that other thread, so that seems hopeful! maybe this month…I would’ve liked to have had it done before they do come out, but with all my waffling, that’s not likely to happen! 😕

-J R R TolkienJanuary 10, 2007 at 11:56 pm #524434I really like the green and I love its face. the yellow scales look great next to the green. The only thing I kinda dont like are the big scales with the pink/red in the center.
January 11, 2007 at 12:02 am #524435Yeah – those scales are definitely what I hate the most about it! That magenta is just ugly!! >:( I have a shell that’s got those exact colors – the magenta and the yellow…but I guess it just doesn’t go with the rest of the colors. I’ll take those out, even if I keep on working on this color scheme…
I’m still really tempted to try and paint it like that fish Drag0n posted earlier…maybe I’ll paint the other side like the fish and see if I like it better. I can just paint over which ever side I hate more! 😈

-J R R TolkienJanuary 11, 2007 at 12:03 am #524436I LOVE the wings…so if you just went over the REST of the body with purple and left the wings the same I think she’d turn out nicely…did I forget to mention needs more purple?

Purple? Now why would you suggest more purple? 🙄
January 11, 2007 at 1:00 am #524438I really like her. Even the magenta on the scales.
January 11, 2007 at 2:38 am #524439The big scales are my favorite part. Maybe if you did it a different color it might look better.
January 11, 2007 at 5:05 am #524440Well, I was going to suggest a lavender corn snake, but I see you’ve already begun painting.

Okay, here’s my poor lavendar eyed dragon as she sits after one paint session. Even the bits that are colored are only partially done, so it WOULD look better once I finished it…but I hate it already. Do you hate it?
WOW ARLLA! I love it! I actually like the magenta, it pops out at you and it actually takes away from all the pastels nicely. I actually really like how it’s coming so far. The only think I don’t like so far is the pink cheek. I’d do that green from the back there instead, but that’s just me. If you change the darker areas in the scales I’m afraid it will be way too overcome with pastels….The wings are BEAUTIFUL!
Hmmmmmm. I wonder how the fish scales would look though, but black is so hard to cover if you don’t like it. That’s a tough decision.

January 11, 2007 at 5:25 am #524443Wow, I think you have a gorgeous scheme going! The wing colours thus far remind me of beautiful sunsests when purple is hued in.
January 11, 2007 at 7:21 am #524444I do think it looks nice. And I think Drag0n is right… looking at the scales again, if you painted over them, there would be nothing to draw the eye. It looks wonderful. Dont be so critical! 😆
