June 18, 2008 at 1:38 am #714792Hope you get your replacement laptop quickly. I thought I had it bad because I managed to kick my scanner out of the PC and no matter what I try I can’t seem to get it to reload or appear as an icon anywhere.
PS It’s a HP

June 18, 2008 at 2:33 am #714794Oh and in case you don’t know – HP puts certain files on all their computers that can be used as virus/trojans. My AVG and Avira antivirus programs found them. There are three – terminator.exe, killwind.exe, and killit.exe. I looked them up on Google to see what they were since they were in the hp folder and found out HP puts them on their computers so they can spy on you and get information about what you’re doing on your computer. O___O
I would suggest installing either or both of those antivirus programs (AVG & Avira – find them on download.com) whether you have an HP computer or anything else.
Also, you want to check your recovery drive and make sure those HP files aren’t there if the scan finds then anywhere else, and if they are, turn your recovery drive off, delete the restore points, do another antivirus scan to make sure they’re gone, restart your computer, and then turn the recovery drive back on and make a new restore point. :3 (hope that wasnt too confusing XD)
June 18, 2008 at 3:37 am #714795Mmloda that’s a bummer that your laptop isn’t working…I hope you get it soon…
Are HP printers safe π π―June 18, 2008 at 4:03 am #714796Not sure about HP printers… I have one. The only thing I don’t like about them is they come with a bunch of crap programs that no one ever needs or uses and take up too much HD space. bah. π
I do love my HP monitor though. π
June 18, 2008 at 1:40 pm #714797I have an HP printer/fax/copier, and I love it. We’ve had it for over a year, and it’s been a steady little machine.
The only problem I have with it is that it automatically fixes red eye on the pictures, so I can’t get an accurate photo printed of any red eyed Windstones. (They have black eyes in the photos since the printer “fixes” them.)
