How to fix a chipped ear?

This evening I noticed my beloved circle of cats candle holder had been damaged. One of the cat’s ears is chipped. I’m absolutely heartbroken, it’s my favorite piece and was the centerpiece on my table. I have no clue what happened to it and can’t find the broken piece anywhere. I feel like the easiest thing to do is to just paint the spot, but not sure where to start. Any suggestions? Hopefully you can see the picture I took at this link here:
