I thought this website was fun. I found it this morning because of the Yahoo! ad about name popularity changing because of Twilight. I wanted to see how popular “Irelyn” (my daughter) was and thought you guys might be interested in your own name. You can see how popular your name was the year you were born or check out the popularity of a name you are thinking of using.

In 1976 (when I was born) my name (Julia) was number 141 of the most popular. In 2009 it was up to 50!

Tell me about your name! 😀

Jana. Thats a great name. I don’t think I have ever heard it before. 🙂 I’ve heard Janet and Jenna, but Jana is pretty cool.

My name, Jennifer, was #1 when I was born in 1982 and is now #109. I’ve always thought there were a lot of people named Jennifer in my generation. Back when I worked at Wal-Mart, there were four other Jennifer’s there around my age working in the same store…

My name Jennifer was #1 the year I was born…1973. And I guess it’s #109 now. 😆 I knew it was popular back then, as I never made it through a class in school without at least one other Jen, Jenny, or Jennifer in it…We always had to pick which one we were gonna go by, I always got stuck with Jenny…Maybe that is why I hate that one shortened version of my name over all others. 🙄

I have a second cousin in Germany with that name… cool!

And my name (Kristen) was the 42nd most popular name when I was born (1987), and has since dropped to #534 in 2009.

Robert’s a good name; my Dad and brother are Roberts.

My first name is 121 (or 58 if you stick an ‘h’ on the end), but the name I go by looks like it’s been in the 200s-300s all my life. Most people think my favorite Dr. Who assistant was Sarah Jane because she has the same name as I do (but there’s that ‘h’ again). I wonder if the names were more popular in England around that time, since her run in the program started when I was 2.

My name (Elena) has never risen above 186 (2002) though it does seem to be getting more popular as we go on….
