I really like both of them, the ki-rin definately needs some dark(er) on the scales, but I’m sure you’re working on that and he/she will come out beautifully!
Yeah… that will be finished off tonight. π her scales are still the white primer…
Now… you know… that IS something I’ve been wondering… what gender is the Ki-Rin? Young Male?
I wonder because the original female Ki-Rin has such a slick head… no evidense of a *mane* at all… whereas the male has a very fluffy *mane* around his neck…
I haven’t read anywhere what gender it is… it could be somewhere… π
As far as the gryphon’s white patch on the belly goes… I kinda liked it being that small… it was originally smaller… but it kept growing…
Do you really think I should make it bigger?
November 22, 2006 at 3:55 pm #509055Im just a beginner. I would get more opinions. It looks good as it is… just a little small to me. If you like it, thats whats important.
November 22, 2006 at 9:15 pm #509056Very nice. The griffin looks much better with the cream. I love how your Ki-rin looks so far. Can’t wait to see the final pics on that one.
November 24, 2006 at 5:21 am #509057Okey dokey guys! Enjoy the eye candy!!
They’ll probably be on ebay this weekend methinks! Here’s hoping!
Here’s the Gryphon… She definately had a mind of her own in the end… π―
The camera had a hard time picking it up… but there are bronze highlights here and there to make her sparkle a bit. ^.^

And… the Ki-Rin!! π He’s gonna be hard to give up methinks… I really like how he turned out…
What you really can’t tell… is just how the light plays with the interference colors on the Ki-Rin… the red scales shine green… and the white scales shine purple/red… and the gold on the neck and belly scales… Stupid camera. π I’ll try to get better pics tomorrow… cause these pics REALLY don’t do him justice!!

I can’t WAIT to get my hands on more of these! They were so much fun… a GREAT release. I can’t wait till the Wolves arrive on Monday or Tuesday…
Only thing… I’m SO used to spraying my horses with Dullcote… to give them a nice flat finish… I just can’t decide if I should do that to these guys.. and then gloss things like beaks, claws etc… or leave them the semi-gloss finish which is similar to a Windstone finish… Hum….
November 24, 2006 at 5:26 am #509058You did a really great job on those, Lady. They harmonize nicely with each other, too. I like!
November 24, 2006 at 10:11 pm #509059SO PRETTY!!!!! I LOVE the spotty scales on your kirin!!!

Your wings are AMAZING and the depth in the feathers is incredible! I really got a sweet deal and am sooooo glad I won this guy! This is what I am picturing when I want to do my wings and it just never gets like this. Maybe now that I can see it up close, I can pull it off π Wonderful!!! Thank you!!
