While hiding somewhere in my head I'm on the lookout for white oriental dragons! Please let me know if you know of any available. Thank you!

The original sprites for the dinosaurs, before they switched over to original designs, were the four classic colors of Yoshi from the Mario games. That’s also why the dinosaur eggs are spotted. I have to say though, the different species of dinosaur now are certainly more fun.
As a side note, all of the original dragon sprites were adapted from video games, not just Yoshi. I remember dragons resembling monsters from a number of Squaresoft games like Final Fantasy and the Chrono Trigger series. Also, I want to say the chicken sprite was taken from the Zelda games. 😈
May 19, 2008 at 2:43 am #670995Ah, nothing like attacking the chickens and having them gang up on you to inflict damage! But on Epona, you’re invincible! 😈 I thought those dinosaurs looked like Yoshi! Blue Yoshi was always my favorite; I loved his flying ability. I have yet to play Chrono Trigger (though I do have it), but Zelda and Final Fantasy should provide more than enough inspiration for dragons! Thanks, Skitterfly!
May 19, 2008 at 2:56 am #670996I’m not a gamer, so no wonder none of them look familiar. 😉 😆
May 19, 2008 at 3:16 am #670997I can’t say any looked familiar to me either, other than the Yoshis. I happened across a game sprite webpage a couple weeks ago though, so I just know that the old sprites for the adult Blue, Green, Gray, Red, both Silvers, Neglected/Sick, and Undead came from various NES/SNES Final Fantasies, Secret of Mana, and Breath of Fire. I went through that entire site just to see which dragons I could find there 😆
