We may sell them in two or three batches. Jut because we want to sell the ones that are ready and not wait for the rest to get finished. We shall see.
July 1, 2013 at 4:53 am #899237susie does a great job of making sure people who miss out are able to get one, I tend to notice windstone hold a few back for that very reason. I’m sure that there will be stragglers, there usually always are. also, windstone also tries to do a good job of keeping people from double ordering by tracking IP addresses when necessary. Just shouting out that windstone DOES tend to bend over backwards to please us, so one way or another, whatever ever decision is reached I am happy with.
Got a busted Windstone?

If you decide to sell them in 2-3 batches like this, is it possible to get group photos of each individual group right before they get released in the store? I only ask this because if our hearts are set on a particular unicorn, the photos could let us see which batch to order from! (*Of course, I’ll understand if it’s too much of a hassle. I figured it was at least worth asking!) 🙂

Great idea! Especially since I have my heart set on one particular one! And I have no clue which batch she fits into!
July 1, 2013 at 6:28 am #899241But then people could only buy from one batch though right? Is it possible to see all of them first in a big class picture before releasing any smaller batches? I am just thinking that way if people knew which ones were available and they don’t see the one they want in one small batch, that they could wait for another.
Looking for rainbow or pink & teal grab bags!

I’m really only a Safari lover but if they’re in smaller batches now I’m tempted….I should really be saving money though x.x blah, dilemma.July 1, 2013 at 1:24 pm #899248I vote for one big batch. I am terrified I will miss them, and I think if they are released in multiple batches that will decrease my chance to nab one. I know we have the honor system on “one per”….but my fear is that if they are released in separate batches I will miss each one.
I want a safari….but I am totally willing to trade! 😀

I dearly want a fantasy blue/green young to go with my candy corn baby… I am willing to trade, but I have to be able to get one first… and when the batches are small the grab bags are sold out before I ever get a chance to respond to the email.
July 2, 2013 at 4:15 am #899280I vote SEPERATE batches….and I love the preview batch photo idea, that way we can try and get the Uni’s we love and not have to buy one from each batch, and this way also hopefully everyone can get one that they had their heart set on!

July 2, 2013 at 4:46 am #899281I agree I would like for there to be separate batches as I am only interested in the safari grab bag unies and since postage is so expensive to Australia it would cost me a lot just to do a trade =P
but if its easier for them to be in one batch then I probably wont get one as I know most likely I would end up getting a fantasy uni lol.July 2, 2013 at 5:13 am #899282I agree I would like for there to be separate batches as I am only interested in the safari grab bag unies and since postage is so expensive to Australia it would cost me a lot just to do a trade =P

The cheapest it would cost, $41 regular (no tracking) to trade, meep.July 2, 2013 at 5:35 am #899283Logistically, I totally understand why having one big batch is the best for Windstone, and for people’s chances at getting one. However.. if you’re asking from a personal opinion standpoint, I think I would be less inclined to gamble THIS much money on something I could possibly dislike. I am far more excited about the fantasy unicorns than the safari, and if I were to spend around $300 and got a safari that no one wanted to trade, I’d be really frustrated.
My vote is split. I like having more unicorns so my chances of getting one are better.. but I really dislike that this is basically two VERY different batches put together. I know it might get boring to paint the same type of thing for a giant batch like this, but maybe in the future keeping them a little more like each other would be better – and this issue wouldn’t even be a question!

However, someone mentioned that these may be the last young unicorns for a long time and there was a stong push for safari/natural corns as well. The forum seems to be split with some preferring candy corns and some preferring the safari. Melody was trying to please everyone. Splitting the batches might be the only solution but it won’t be a clean one because many of the unicorns are a little bit safari and a little bit fantasy; which batch would you put drag0nheathers’ radioactive yellow eyed, rainbow colored zebra?
July 2, 2013 at 6:43 am #899290I think Melody mentioned she counts the rainbow tigers and colourful loosas (and the like) as Fantasy. I believe the safari ones are full-on safari, no unnatural colours.
I guess if the batches are split we will be able to see which group certain unicorn styles have been placed in by the store photo 😉 -
