I have painted 120 of the grab bag young unicorns. They are a chaotic mix of bright colored leafy fantasy designs and supernatural/ safari patterns in earth tones. Less than half are the bright fantasy colors.
Should we sell them as one big group? -Or divide them into two batches; fantasy and safari? ( some of the safari’s are metallic and pearl colors so I am not sure which batch they go in)
John wants to sell them separately.
Pam and I want to sell them together, so it’s more random and exciting, but I really don’t want people to end up with one they hate!June 28, 2013 at 6:01 pm #899133I think it would be a good idea to separate them, that way people can decide which batch they want to buy from (not everyone loves candycorns, and not everyone loves natural horse colors). On the flip side, I also think, that even if you didn’t separate them (to keep it a complete surprise…which is better than Christmas morning! lol) everyone who was going to buy, will still buy…that’s what the Trade section of the Forum is for, I suppose. This is no different than the GB poads, which are random (from autumn leaf to real birds to butterflies to mosaic prints)
Also, if you did separate them, you could classify them as Candy corn/fantasy, and the rest can fall into supernatural/safari. I think my metallic pally baby is from the supernatural batch.
That’s just my opinion 🙂
Really looking forward to these, no matter what you decide!!!
Thank you Miss Melody 🙂
Wanted: "Dragon Fruit" Male Dragon ~ "Fire Berry", "Paradise", "Dragon Fruit", "Tie Dye" ~ The brighter, the better!
June 28, 2013 at 6:09 pm #899132Together, please! the bigger batch is less likely to cause the store to crash. Besides there’s always lots of trading to be done.
Life is beautiful.
June 28, 2013 at 6:15 pm #899135I vote for separate please. At the moment I’m waffling over buying one at all. But if there’s a gaurentee that the one I get will be natural/safari then I will deffinately buy.
I agree with the fact that there is always the option to trade, but personally I find the idea of trades to be very stressful. Plus that fact that you can lose large amounts of money having to pay for shipping multiple times. In the end if I got a fantasy one I would probably just sell it on ebay to avoid the hassel and end up with none. 🙁
Separate Please 🙂
June 28, 2013 at 6:27 pm #899137I think you should sell them together. For one thing, if you sold them separately, the batch sizes would be so small that they would sell out too fast. Also, I wouldn’t worry about people hating what they get: Everyone is totally familiar with the concept of trading and even if you did split the batch, there would still be trading. In fact, forum members will get grab bag whatevers that they really like and still put them into the trading pool in case something more to their individual tastes becomes available.
By the way, I prefer the fantasy colors myself, but I would not be bummed if I got a safari young! I’ve only seen one or two youngs on the livestreams that I would consider trading – give yourself credit. You are an amazingly creative and talented artist and all of your work is fantastic! Thank you for doing these grab bags so that anyone can get a OOAK Melody Pena original!!
June 28, 2013 at 6:29 pm #899138I vote for together, because I really don’t know what I want. I don’t have one I hope to get one this time.
June 28, 2013 at 6:40 pm #899139I vote for selling them together. It’d be more of a surprise and exciting to see which we get.
June 28, 2013 at 7:12 pm #899140Separate please!! I would love a safari!!
June 28, 2013 at 7:35 pm #899134Seperate! I love safari and all, but I really want a wild and crazy one!!!

If someone hates the one they get, they can trade it or sell it. Or not get one if they have anxiety about it! It’s supposed to be fun and a surprise. These only seem to appreciate in value.

My art: featherdust.comJune 28, 2013 at 8:39 pm #899142Sell them together. It will be less stressful for you, and then you won’t have to deal with the stress of people buying from both batches as a way around the 1 per rule. This way all 120 go to to different people instead of 60 people getting 2 unis. I personally would love both a safari and candy corn, so I want an equal chance at both. One batch does that for me since I can only afford one.

I agree. These are grab bags and are a surprise as to what you get. They are supposed to be fun and not a headache. If someone doesn’t like the particular one they get, they can either trade or sell (you don’t see what’s inside a back of baseball cards, collectible card games, or packaged random figure pack, and you trade for something you like.
I personally would prefer one batch (it’s less hassle for Windstone, who already bends over backwards for customers), but I’m ok with either.
June 28, 2013 at 8:50 pm #899144One batch please. 🙂
June 28, 2013 at 9:05 pm #899147I have a question Melody. I have mainly seen the first 2 videos and the photos from Kiya. Thanks so much for the photos by the way. But it seems that the majority are fantasy colors unless you count the black ones with the various animal saddles or silver, gold, pink, lavender swirlies. Are these black ones in your definition as safari? I ask because I favor fantasy but I like these black ones a lot and I think of them as fantasy. So just asking for some clarification so if they are in two batches and I am trying for one of the black ones I know what group to go for.
I think they are very beautiful and the artistry is just outstanding. I just want them to go in the store very soon, I can’t wait!
June 28, 2013 at 9:33 pm #899148It doesn’t really matter to me, but I think my odds of getting one would be better if they were sold all at once. Unless, if you have two batches, are you limiting buyers to purchasing from one batch or the other? Just curious. 🙂
