Hope you can get a job soon Magicdragon!
Also, good luck in Vancouver, Kim, it’s a really pretty place and it can be tough, but I found job hunting easier there than where I currently am. (Lived there for three years while I was doing the university thing.) Burnaby and North Vancouver and more out lying places like White Rock are the best places to live on the lower mainland from my experience. I loved North Van, especially when I was up on the mountain sides because I was nice and high above sea level. It drove me nuts living on the flood plain lower down where I was for a while because if a tsunami from ‘the big one’ had decided to come by while I had been there I’d have been toast! (The big one is a predicted earthquake which is supposed to occur because of friction happening at the tectonic plates, but nobody knows when. It’s most likely nothing to worry about though, I’m just wary.) My brother lives in downtown Vancouver, which is nice and convenient for the shops and Stanley Park. There’s a lot to do.
