I understand your frustration, Syn. I’d be frustrated, myself! Genuinely.
However, I think I might need to make it a new forum rule that we can’t complain about people buying items to turn and sell them (here, eBay or elsewhere), because each and every time it comes up there is a drama fest!!

My art: featherdust.comApril 18, 2011 at 2:27 am #842774I quoted this above, but in case anyone misses it:
Sorry!
I didn’t think these would sell out that quickly!
I didn’t want to do one-per-customer on these grab bag things because, if it was me, and if I had any money, I’d want to buy a couple and sell or trade one if I didn’t want both. This would make lots of extras circulating among members and possibly allow non-monetary bartering so folks who are rich in talent but short of cash at the moment could maybe get one? Just a thought.

Many times I’ve been late to the game and it feels horrible. All I can do is hope the item is restocked soon.April 18, 2011 at 4:38 am #842780I understand your frustration, Syn. I’d be frustrated, myself! Genuinely.

I wasn’t complaining about people buying items and then selling them. Most collectors resell or trade items at some point, including me; and who wants to lose money when they sell something?
I was complaining about the ability of someone to buy out EVERY ONE of an item so that people HAVE to buy from them at inflated prices or not at all. That is why I think there should be a limit of two on the quantity someone can buy from a batch, and I followed that rule myself.
And frustrated isn’t exactly the word I would use. More like shocked and disbelieving. Now that I got that off my chest, I won’t say another word.
April 18, 2011 at 4:39 am #842781I don’t particularly feel that it always should be a limit of one per person, but some sort of control would be appreciated, maybe depending on how many items are being made available and if more will be made available at another time.
Or another solution: Graft another 2 or so pairs of arms onto Melody. Which will equal more painted pretties, yes?April 18, 2011 at 4:53 am #842782Or another solution: Graft another 2 or so pairs of arms onto Melody. Which will equal more painted pretties, yes?
LOL octo-melody!
April 21, 2011 at 12:45 am #842991I voted No More than 2 Per Customer … and that’s saying something because I am a HUGE advocate of the ONE Per rule across the board. Which can always be lifted when she makes more and the store is plentiful so everyone can get one. Because every hoofer collector is going to want one for sure, and highly likely even die hard dragon fans will want one too.
One or Two Per – never, on ANY piece, do I condone a free for all. Not until the hype has died down and everyone has pretty much bought one.

April 21, 2011 at 3:50 pm #843038I’m odd man out… I voted buy as many as you want. I don’t get the “it’s not fair” mentality. I totally missed out on the youngs and said ARGH! but I’m happy for people that got them and hopefully there will be more.
But in the end, it’s Windstone’s decision and their headache to police. It’s awesome they even thought to do it.You are not the only odd man out. I also voted for buy as many as you want/can. I agree with everything you said Phoenix.
Wait until you want to buy a piece and there are four left in the store. You start to order, and suddenly they are ALL gone, bought in one fell swoop by the same person. And they are not, and have never to this day been restocked. Then the buyer starts putting them up on eBay, at higher prices of course. The buyer bought the entire remaining stock of this item so that the only place to get it was by paying their 25% higher eBay price.
I am actually not against people buying several pieces IF they are for THEMSELVES. So far, people have not been selling on eBay at all, much less at inflated prices. So I voted for two per transaction. If the scalping happens again, I would be all for the one-per-person rule.
Been there, done that. Had my piece snatched right out of my cart because I wasn’t fast enough to check out. But I definitely did NOT buy from the eBay seller. I just grumbled to myself and waited for the next batch. If we squeek enough, there will almost always be another batch made.
