To visit my stepkids (Megan and her older brother Michael – my step-stepson?). I won’t have computer access, so see you all in a few days.

May 12, 2008 at 11:38 pm #699920Sorry. I got a temp job for the day, so I’ve been gone until now. I’m still really tired and I have to update my website with new shipping prices (since the post office increase went into effect today) yet, so I’d better do that first.
I’ll try to fill you in soon. It wasn’t that exciting, so don’t hold your breath. 😀
May 13, 2008 at 12:14 am #699921(stops holding breath and gasps for air!!!!) 😆

OK. I have a little time before going to work this morning (I got a temp job for a couple days).
We drove out to Green Bay on Friday after my Final Exam class (where we didn’t have a final exam… I just gave them their papers back and said goodbye). We got there about 5:00 p.m. and picked up Megan.
The hotel we had booked was stunning! It had a big atrium in the middle with wrought iron balconies all around on every floor (eight). In the middle were Tiki huts and fake palm trees wrapped in lights. It sounds tacky, but it was actually very pretty. Our room had a separate living room with a bar and bar stools, microwave, and fridge. It also had a flat panel TV as well as a regular TV in the bedroom part. There was a door to close off the two parts, so if someone got up early, he or she could watch TV in the living room and close the door so the others could still sleep. Very nice.
Friday night we had dinner at Old Chicago for Meg’s birthday (It was last April, but… you know). Then it was very late, so we went to bed. In the morning we went to the mall and did a little shopping. I got Megan a cute green top (goes with her red hair) at Old Navy. And then we went to see “Iron Man.”
Then we went to her older brother’s (step-stepson Michael) music recital at the U of W – Green Bay. He plays saxophone and he is very good. It was the first time we heard him in person. There was a reception afterwards where we ate, then we went back to the hotel and sat in the hot tub. Very nice!
We played a game called Zombie Fluxx for a while and then went to bed. The hotel fed us breakfast (pancakes, eggs, cereal, etc) both mornings, included in the cost. So in the morning we had breakfast and dropped Megan off at home, then started the long drive home. I didn’t get to spend a lot of time with her on Mother’s Day, but at least she said, “Happy Mother’s Day, Mom.” (She got a hug and a kiss for that.)
I got home and took a nap and have been just dragging ever since. The house is a mess. The dishes aren’t done. Laundry is piling up. And I have no time. I can’t even get the hubby to go to our cable/internet/phone provider and work out a better deal.
But, I now have the website updated with the new shipping prices (I hope they’re right – everything went up so much!).
May 13, 2008 at 9:03 pm #699923Sounds like you had a lot of fun, even if it was a whirlwind trip. 🙂
