Thanks, BDW. My black drawing pens are all dry and used up, and I haven’t managed to completely befriend Mom’s Rotrings yet, so yesterday I switched mediums.
Gouache and watercolor really aren’t my thing. I much prefer itty bitty details, not spontaneous swooshes of color. This was basically a sketch for me, to determine the headdress on a female Paradise Dragons (one of my breeds). Then seen as how I had a lovely set of gouache colors sitting unused and unopened in my drawer, I decided to try them out.
The picture is quite vibrant, not pastel. Blame the scanner for the color change.
That’s very kind of you, twindragonsmum. With this kind of encouragement I might actually make something good with gouache someday. 😆

Why, thank you all! Now I’m looking forward to getting out the gouache again tomorrow, since it’s going to be a snow day. 😀

So you know the scale in the picture, Gem is the size of a barn cat.
