the female seems to be a black gold repainted or something, there’s the old color showing through a bit in a few places…..the male seems to be having a little bit of color of something else showing on his nose too…

4. September Raffle Prize 2022 AHD Male GriffinIf john is correct that these might be “give aways” from the old factory, its possible that they were old test paint pieces that were airbrushed over multiple times. They might have been airbrushed black to provide a “clean slate”.
The adults have the gem colors of old greens, the hatchling might have been a peacock at one time. I can see bits of color on the adults between the scales and what looks like rubs where the black’s come off.

Look to me like the old green dragons repainted of I was a guessing woman. They have the right eye and jewel colors for that, but it’s very interesting that they might be super rare dragons.
I’m not bidding, I’m going cold turkey on buying Windstones until I get adjusted to a new car payment.

Like if they knew anything about the dragons history or if they had any of the boxes. We’ll see what they have to say. It’s so hard to say, they almost look like spray paint, but then again not.
Here is the info I got from the seller:
I don’t know if these are repaints. However, I did have them looked at today by a local pottery artist and he told me that the paint looked original, it appeared to him that there was no other colors underneath the black, and that there are some different colored paint scuffs on them but are on top of the black, he noted that there are chips in the dragons where you can visibly see that there are no other color paint underneath the black. My boyfriend used to collect dragons, so his mother who lived in lancaster 60 miles from pasadena bought these for him about 4 or 5 years ago at an estate sale, so there is no original box.
Somewhat helpful i guess lol it at least gives an idea of their age and the area they originally came from.

Yeah and saying its chiped and no color underneath. I don’t think they get that windstone is white originally And if you chip it you always see white gypsum stone no matter what color the paint is lol

yep….besides the female is a dead give away, she looks like a repaint does when you miss a spot or the paint rubs off before you seal it….

I don’t think it’s fishy. The seller seemed open about answering questions. If it is/was a repaint, the seller wasn’t aware of it. They might have also found a local buyer or they decided to keep them.
