I was thinking more the size of the fledgling, but hey, I am not picky.

Im still hoping for a baby spectral. I dont reeeally like the idea of regular eyes in the spectral…I cant quite picture it…*looks sideways at spectrals* I agree…they wouldnt be very spectral anymore. I would still buy one, though. I have been waiting for something different for my sitting spectral. Either a different color, or hey, a new set of eyes would work, too.
Why couldn’t baby spectrals have extra big eyes…maybe they grow into their eyes like puppies grow into their paws….it’s all fantasy, so why not??? I do think it would have to be at least fledgling size ‘though… 😯
December 2, 2006 at 1:52 pm #512999I would have to see it. Extra big puppy dog eyes can certainly be adorable. I have no objections.

December 2, 2006 at 4:06 pm #513001I like the idea of spectrals with normal eyes…and the baby spectral idea is great too. Why not do those with normal eyes since the “spectral eyes” aren’t available in the baby size? I really like the rising spectral pose, I don’t have a big preference about the eyes…
December 2, 2006 at 9:59 pm #513002but what would make it a spectral if it had flat eyes? That’s the point of the spectrals, isn’t it?
Also, speaking of spectrals, the gal at the Briar Shop told me the sitting spectral in peacock has been retired for like a year. That’s not right, is it? Weren’t they only retired with the rest of the peacock stuff just this month? I went in there to get one, and they were all out! So I got a ruby oriental sun dragon instead.

Yeah, I don’t really think of it as a spectral or not…I just like that sculpt…
December 3, 2006 at 2:21 am #513004The Austrailian crystal eyes are what make the spectral dragon, but if there was a way to…
Well, my Gramma had a fish tank with this colorful crushed aluminum foil behind it. They used to make it for the back of tanks if you didn’t want the printed fake plants…Now, if there were eyes like that, or a way to get them…Hmmm. They could still have pupils and whatnot, but the iris would appear to be metallic…*dreams*
But the baby idea…half size of the sitting would be perfect…look at the fledgling himself, he has some big “doe” eyes already. 😉 😉
But you know what? It doesn’t matter what we say, ultimately it’s up to Melody, but we can throw out hints I guess. 😆
Frankly Melody, there has been only one of your sculptures I didn’t want, but maybe I will get one years down the line (I have a 12 yr old) the Mermaid (she has nipples and a buttcrack and he’s already bad enough around them asking if he gets them when I die 😕 )that I know he WOULDN’T be able to resist showing to his friends. 🙄December 3, 2006 at 4:55 am #513005I really love the spectral sculpts….and I may be the only one here, but I’m not really fond of the spectrals’ eyes!! I would LOVE to see spectrals with normal dragon eyes, personally.

but not my most favorite…..
although I’d love to see the BEP one Melody said she did….

My thoughts exactly! At first I didn’t get any of the spectrals at all because of the eyes…but then after the brown rising spectral came out they kind of grew on me and I got one of those. But I generally prefer the normal eyes too.

The baby spectral is a cute idea.

I agree. I’ve never brought myself to buy one I just can’t stand the eyes. But, I love the sculpt. I would really like to see one with regular eyes.

The sitting was just retired, but the rising one has been retired for a while now. I’m not sure how long though. *shrugs* Definately not the sitting though. I just bought one from Grandio a fe weeks ago.

I don’t think it would look bad, though personally, I much prefer the current spectral eyes. And I will second what everyone else said, it isn’t a “spectral” without the eyes!
If you want to try them with regular eyes though, don’t let us stop you. I am still curious to see what a spectral would look like with regular eyes, even if I would never buy one.
Just a comment to all the haters of the current spectral eyes: make sure you see them in person before you pass judgment! Pics don’t really capture the true depth and color of a spectral’s eyes. You HAVE to see them on the ruby version, they look FANTASTIC! I never loved spectral eyes that much either, or the ruby dragons, but the ruby color plus spectral eyes hits it off perfectly. My ruby spectral is undoubtedly one of my most gorgeous pieces.
