So yeah, I’m always hunting for deals on ebay. I saw this ending soon, had like a bid of a dollar, so I put in a bid for like 30 bucks, no way expecting to win. I only have one old green dragon, so I’d like to add to that family, but it’s nothing I’m actively collecting towards. And surprise, surprise, I won, for like $2.25…for 4 dragons.
Seller misspelled Windstone on the listing(Windsone), so maybe that’s why there was no competition?
Does anyone know if it’s against any ebay policy for me to message the seller and tell her/him she/he doesn’t have to sell it to me? I would feel really, really mean and bad for paying two bucks for 4 dragons…
okay, I have an idea. I can message the seller and tell her which ONE dragon I want, like I thought the auction was for them separately? The listing is kind of vague there, so that kind of helps this situation… Does that sound reasonable?
That would be a nice thing to do, letting the seller know what happened.. You could also offer what you feel to be a reasonable price for the lot, and see if the seller will accept that instead of relisting them. Last month I won a large lot of uncommon figurines for only about $1 because no one else bid. I felt bad and offered to pay the seller more for the pieces, but they only wanted to get rid of them and were happy just to be paid the shipping cost.
I messaged her and asked her to contact me so we can work it out. I’m hoping for the “I’ll just buy ONE of these dragons dirt cheap” option, because sellers who are not collectors tend to have a grossly inflated idea of what their old green pieces are worth and I really just don’t want to haggle with someone like that about the whole set.

The young as well (I already own a mother old green, but the entire group is in nice shape). That would be really awesome if she really just wanted to move em, but you can see at the bottom of the page someone asked about just buying the mother, and the seller stated she wanted around “market” value that she sees other Windstones at…so yeah, I’m not too hopeful there.

You can’t put something up for bids and then ask for offers, and you certainly can’t make a single listing to sell “as a lot or separately”.

Yeah, that’s a good point LIH. Maybe I’m not so great as finding deals as finding trouble =P I must be wearing a drama magnet or something.
