Congrats!! The certificate was not messed up by the wetness?
Just a little damp around the corners, thankfully!
And I’m keeping that box in my room under my eye, Jasmine. There’s no knowing what my cats might consider ‘edible.’ 🙄
I’m sure glad to have him safe and sound! 😀
September 19, 2007 at 12:20 pm #618040Thank goodness he’s okay. That would have been horrbile if the wetness got to him and caused any damage.
That’s one thing I don’t like about UPS, is the fact that they just leave stuff at your door. I much prefer deliveries by the postal service. I don’t want packages left at my doorstep, especially because I live in an apartment complex… and you can’t trust anyone nowadays not to swipe stuff that isn’t theirs. At least the mail lady we have either leaves it with the leasing office or at our post office.
I’m glad he got to you okay though, and he looks great with all the other chicks. 😀

If he’d been messed up by the rainwater, I’d have been bawling for sure.
I prefer USPS for that reason, also because if I have to drive to pick up a UPS package, it’s a very long trip (with a few mandatory wrong turns ) , while the post office is just a mile away.
September 19, 2007 at 12:36 pm #618042Yeah, I know where you are coming from Travistie. That is why I call in sick! 😆 Besides it isn’t that I get alot of deliveries. (I am just lucky to have a boss who is Microphobic! All I have to do is cough or sneeze and she sends me home. 😆 )
September 19, 2007 at 12:55 pm #618043I wish my boss was like that!
September 19, 2007 at 1:37 pm #618044OOOOoooooh, I got cold chills reading that at first…I’m SOOO glad your chick was unharmed! 😯 😀

My heart was in my throat opening that package! He’s my little survivor! 😀 😆
September 19, 2007 at 2:00 pm #618046irreplacable too… 😯
September 19, 2007 at 3:23 pm #618047Nice new addition. I like them all together like that. When you said that “I picked it up, and a thin stream of water cascades from one corner.” my heart sank. I’m so glad to see he came out alright.
September 19, 2007 at 3:32 pm #618048Is this the spotted chick? So glad that he didn’t swim and drown in that box.
September 19, 2007 at 3:33 pm #618049can griffins swim I wonder…
September 19, 2007 at 4:13 pm #618050Oh yikes! So glad he made it okay. Our UPS driver knows to always store boxes in sheltered places (i.e. on a covered porch) if it’s inclement weather out. Can you call your UPS guys up and put in a request like that?
I’ve had FedEx leave a box full of art prints I had ordered, more than $200 worth, in the driveway in the pouring rain before. They were ruined! Luckily the print shop had an agreement with FedEx and they had to replace them free. Yikes.

I don’t think there are any spotted chicks out yet. ❓ He’s a Labradorite chick, so basically irreplacable if the little guy had ‘drowned.’ 😯
Windstone griffins should never go swimming. They wouldn’t look so sleek and majestic with sodden feathers sticking out every which way! 😉

My UPS guys are usually pretty good too, and tend to stick things by my side entrance, which is much more sheltered. This was FexEx, and I don’t deal with them much–I wasn’t expecting it to come FedEx, either!
So glad there was a happy ending for your art prints!
September 19, 2007 at 4:32 pm #618053I’ve also noticed that FedEx does a dump and runs without even knocking or ringing a door bell. That’s a bad practice, especially if the item was insured.
