**EDIT**Well it seems that someone aparently liked my idea of my “Spirit Wolves” I am really glad to see that they are liked and truly was a GREAT idea….This person, not sure if its a forum member, but they did have a pretty good idea for the war paint designs I think…thought you all might like to take a look, although the wings look too much like the very last one I did. Which both so far are proudly owned by the same person πŸ˜€
I hope this isnt taken the wrong way 😯 ….I am actually flattered by this 😳 BUT, I was reminded by a special member that read this new post of mine…and with Water’s previous problem with this member, I am really NOT sure how to take this and am VERY CURIOUS OF THIS situation….I dunnno…what do you guys think of all this??? Here is the link, and PLEASE let me know what you all think.

It seems to me that this person is the same that tried posting pictures of Waters to sell it and when they got in trouble for it resorted to picking things that looked some what easy to paint and trying to copy them and sell them which..

I think your spirit wolves look much better then that..

Thank you soo very much TC & everyone else! πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜€
I STILL have yet to do the other one I have been wanting to do for a LONG time, and still have pictures to post in the gallery…BUT I am KINDA scared to now……now that all of “THIS” is happening…ya know? But really thinking about it…what….are we all going to stop painting altogether?? YEAH…nope 😯 πŸ™„ LOL! I guess we are all just going to have to live with the people that dont have any originality to them, and keep on doing what we do best πŸ˜€

I recognize the paintjob, but can’t remember who painted it. It looks like a pastel piece and not many use that technique.

Well…she prety much copied my wolf thats in my gallery. But used different shades and what-not….but still…. 😯 πŸ˜• πŸ™„
    OH WELL I guess.

Even though she’s being a cheat, I really wouldn’t worry about it. They say that copying is the highest form of flattery, but this flattery won’t get her anywhere, and its certainly not making her any money or friends. Her loss, not yours, I’d say.

the reason her wolves have no definition,is because she painted over the original ones she started out with, now i dont know anything as far as copyrights for art go,but i do know that a photograph you have taken is automatically given copyrite protection.it still does not stop photo theft, but it does help if you water mark them.

you know, I was just looking at the ones that they have posted on ebay and they are very quickly painted… like the war party one… it’s just a solid light yellow colour with the nails painted, the wings are just 3 different colours, no antiqueing at all, and the like squeegles and spirles and such look they where just hastly painted with no thought… like the person didn’t really care for the work they were doing..

Yes, I agree. It looks like she didn’t put any time or care into the paint job. Kinda looks like a littl kid did it. I find it difficult to believe that anyone will actually buy that off Ebay. If she was trying to copy Dragon Caverns’… she made a horrible attempt. πŸ˜•

It’s easy to speculate ’till the cows come home. It’s best to stay with the facts though.

It’s easy to get caught up in our little world here. That’s why I keep my first PYO around to look at, and I won’t fix it- so I can remember where I came from.

I absolutely agree that using someone else’s photos to promote your own work is unacceptable. Perhaps she didn’t know better- unfortunately we’ll never really know. At least she has not continued to do so. It was a bad move and a big mistake, but she’s fixed that.

As for copying the native american theme from dragonscavern- again, there’s no way to really know for sure. Maybe she did. Maybe she was inspired from other native american art.

When we start out, a lot of us have been inspired by or borrowed ideas from our peers. How many of you here would have known to try interference paints on PYOs till you saw the effects others had with them? Or borrowed the idea of putting wings onto a Kirin after one of our memebers did so? Borrowing a general idea or even technique but using it in your own style and work happens constantly.

She could be just starting out and doesn’t know better. IF this is the case, I know it doesn’t make any wrong right. But, I think we will achieve more with education rather than berating someone. I know one of Windstone’s goals is to help educate people on copyright law and help artists to better protect themselves. πŸ™‚

I agree with most of what you said Nam. The part I don’t agree with is where you say she may not know better…
I think just by her attitude she’s given people from her resonses when she was notified what she was doing was not right shows she’s most likely a self-righteous and self-absorbed type of person who doesn’t care what other people think or feel.

I wonder if she’s following this conversation. I hope so.

              Eh…

It looks like a poorly painted combination of the two spirit wolves that I’ve gotten from DragonsCavern. It’s nowhere near as nice though. (I would know since I own them.) Looking at her history, she’s probably copied and adjusted them. It’s a shame. There’s so many different ways to do a Native American themed one without it being so simiar to DragonCavern’s wolves.

I understand where you are coming from Nam. But, she had been nagged before about Water’s copied work, and pictures. She knows what she is doing, and remains doing it.
The wing thing though, with the Ki-Rins…Didn’t everyone who made them with wings ask the first person who did it if it was OK for them to do it? Or Maybe I have got my threads crossed, please forgive me I think I am getting old. 😳 (I know a few of my wires are sometimes.) LOL

I myself have seen alot of people’s paint schemes and thought, “Wow! I would have never thought of that! But it sure is pretty!” Or I even have had similar ideas to others ideas and basically wiped my slate of those ideas because I don’t want anyone thinking I am trying to copy them. So, maybe that is why I am so against what she is doing. πŸ˜•

I hope she is too GB. I really do. πŸ˜‰

That grey wolf was one I sold to csm designs, sorry can’t remember that actual forum member’s name 😳 I also forgot to sign it. I hope this greyspiritwolf will keep it for her own collection and not try to copy it. I also hope she doesn’t try to sell it as one of hers. 😳

It is done in pastels….That darn tan came out so orange looking in the photos…

I was trying to figure out who painted that wolf and I was going to get it, but she got it before I did. That sucks cause I wanted something done in Pastels.
