Hope everyone out East is okay!
Earthquakes aren’t the norm in that area of Canada, but do happen occasionally. Earthquakes happen more frequently out in the Vancouver area (same fault as California). Lived on Vancouver island (same time as the big tsunami in Asia, Christmas in 2004) for awhile and had the earthquake/tsunami talk (had to give it couple of times) at work and lived right next to the ocean.
Now I am very glad to live in a natural disaster free area, well… baring the occasional floodJune 24, 2010 at 10:28 pm #818724drag0nfeathers wrote:KoishiiKitty wrote:Mooseberries! ROFL. first time I’ve heard them called that. XD
Yea if you actually curse in your post and don’t ***** censor yourself
Sh*t is mooseberries
Fu*k is SUPERCALIFRAGILISTICEXPIALIDOCIOUSThere’s probably more, but I don’t know them 😆
It’s actually pretty funny
As far as earthquakes, I’ve never felt one. It must be scary! I can’t even imagine.
hehe, I thought Fu*k used to be something like Auuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuugh! lol I haven’t used it in a while, so I dunno….we should test it out lol PMing YOU!
earthquakes aren’t that scary as long as they aren’t too big. Like everything else, you get used to them. They can be kinda exciting actually ^^

You are right that is what it used to be so when I saw mooseberries I thought it was funnyJune 25, 2010 at 10:22 am #818726LadyFirebird wrote:Are earthquakes a usual thing in your area? I thought California was earthquake country. They are scary because you don’t know when they’ll hit or how long they’ll last. Glad you and your son are fine as well as everyone else. I don’t think you ever get used to earthquakes, I don’t sit around thinking about them. I consider them natural reminders that we don’t own or totally control the planet.
Apparently they happy every 10 to 15 years at that scale here. Guess I’m either sound asleep or driving because I only remember one time in my life other then this one.

Very well put LadyF!
We don’t have earthquakes often where I live, but when we do, they are slaps on the face and reminders for us to be aware and know what to do in the event of THE BIG ONE happening. Last time we had a quake, I got myself, my daughter and my mom out of bed and standing in a door frame before the shaking stopped! Review earthquake emergency survival information –
•Know how to turn off your gas and water mains!
If Shaking Begins:
•Drop down; take cover under a desk or table and hold on.
•Stay indoors until the shaking stops and you’re sure it’s safe to exit.
•Stay away from bookcases filled with Windstones, or furniture and statues that can fall on you.
•Stay away from windows. In a high-rise building, expect the fire alarms and sprinklers to go off during a quake.
•If you are in bed, hold on and stay there, protecting your head with a pillow.
•If you are outdoors, find a clear spot away from buildings, trees, and power lines. Drop to the ground.
•If you are in a car, slow down and drive to a clear place. Stay in the car until the shaking stops. If you are on a bridge, FLOOR IT and get OFF!June 26, 2010 at 12:22 am #818728Leigha wrote:drag0nfeathers wrote:KoishiiKitty wrote:Mooseberries! ROFL. first time I’ve heard them called that. XD

Yea it was something like that before 😀
No earthquakes in New England, but we got a hell of a thunder and lightning storm yesterday! Woo!
Seems like West coast gets the earthquakes, central America is full of tornadoes, and over here on the East is snow, SNOW and more SNOW or the occasional flash flood
No matter what, your boned one way or another 🙄As much as I loathe snow and flooding, I think I would hate my house being split open or being whisked away in the wind a lot more.
Got a busted Windstone?

Heck yes it is.. Oklahoma City had the biggest tornado in history on May 3rd 1999, it was an F5 with winds over 300mph!
Me and my dad went up 2 days after the damage and it was unbelievable.
I’ve never experienced an earthquake, but tornados are pretty dang exciting. 😀June 26, 2010 at 9:33 am #818730sagiaparri wrote:drag0nfeathers wrote:central America is full of tornadoes

June 27, 2010 at 4:50 am #818731I felt it too, I was sitting at my computer checking emails before going into work and my monitor started wobbling…then my trinkets on my shelves…and then the water in my glass started jumping around. I ran downstairs and found myself alone in the house, with the dishes rattling in the cupboards and the dogs hiding behind furniture. It was bizarre!
And then of course I went into Midland to work the afternoon shift and found myself in the middle of an F2 tornado, watching the roof get torn off the trunk repair place next door, 18-wheelers lift off the ground, trees fly and the walls of our own warehouse blow out around us. I know it doesn’t sound like much to people who have lived in tornado country all their lives, but the last tornado of any note in this entire area happened before I was born.
What a day! 😮

YOU SAID IT!!!
I have Earthquake putty under MOST of my Windstones in my glass cases and with growing up here I think they are more entertaning then anything else except of course when it results in death like when the freeway collapsed during commute hour in the east bay in the 7.2 1989 quake hereJune 27, 2010 at 2:45 pm #818734KoishiiKitty wrote:Leigha wrote:XD last time we had an earthquake I ran to my curio cabinet to make sure it didn’t fall over with my Windstones in it! hahahahahaha I’ll take my earthquakes over tornados/tsunamis/whatever else ANY day 🙂
The next big earth quake is going to be when you and I are at pier 49. I just know it.

Yeah! We all went into work laughing about the mini-quake and talking about how it was probably going to be the most exciting thing to happen in months…and then 3 hours later half the town is in ruins 😮
June 29, 2010 at 3:47 pm #818737Glad everyone is okay! We have some pretty major fault lines where we live too but they are mostly (very) quiet or science doesn’t know about them yet!
So glad you guys are amused by the word filters/censoring. I change them from time to time to make you laugh..!!
