Here is my first griffen. I still have a little more work to do on him. (Before)

January 16, 2007 at 4:43 pm #528554I love the color on his claws and beak!
January 16, 2007 at 6:27 pm #528555Thank you Cheryl and Ski. I’m really getting sick of the guy myself. I’ve been working on him since November. The claws have to be repainted, but, I don’t remember how to get that colour. Hopefully, I’ll get something close. I have a antique style key that I’ll be hanging from his paws when he’s finally done. I hope he’ll be done by the end of the week. Then I’ll start my Romeo dragon.
January 16, 2007 at 8:47 pm #528556How will you attach the key, Romeo? Those folded claws are just made for holding something, but I don-t dare mess them up by drilling or gluing…

The only way I can see is glueing it on. I don’t think wrapping a chain around the claws would work. I wouldn’t drill. I could just see the paws falling apart. So glue it will be.

January 18, 2007 at 1:14 am #528559Well, I have lots of epoxy left from the candlelamp so I’m sure that will work. I just hope I can stand the smell of it again. It was expensive glue too. It was around $6 for 25ml.
I think I’m going to change the nail colour. It looks too much like nail polish. Maybe some brown mixed with the nail colour. Any suggestions anyone?January 18, 2007 at 4:57 am #528560That is a neat idea. I can’t wait to see when you are done with it. What if you tipped the nails in gold?
January 18, 2007 at 12:43 pm #528561I tried tipping them in gold, they just got lost in the paws. I added burnt orange and this is what I got.

January 20, 2007 at 6:53 pm #528564His wings are gorgeous, and the key matches nicely. I like!
