I think Hoofer nailed the situation nicely…there are some who would never be pleased even with the best efforts. I know I’ve met some of them when I did wedding cakes! π …..nothing worse than the paranoid perfectionist mother in law…. π
September 27, 2008 at 9:16 pm #733698What if we all send HATEFUL e-mails to this person to get them to retract the negative?
September 27, 2008 at 11:45 pm #733699Bottom line is we don’t know what the person’s experience was – he or she obviously felt that a negative was warrented. And people are within their rights to post negative comments without the villagers lighting their torches and rioting toward the castle. Oops, channelling Mel Brooks there!
Personally I have NEVER had a bad experience with Windstone – they and Astral Castle remain my favorite companies to deal with. The negative WE got isn’t going to stop me from buying from them in the future! π π

Because not only is that immature, it is against eBay ToS (Terms of Service) and is a form of harassment. Not only could people that do this get in trouble, but it could be a huge problem for Windstone as well. Please stop suggesting things like this.

September 28, 2008 at 3:49 am #733702you know I’ve never even felt the need to look at Windstone Editions ebay feedback, I’ve delt with them long enough to know when Susie is having a bad day and sends a one word response in an email…
I would never be upset about it but that is because I know her and can mostly figure her tone from her email…
but there are people out there that don’t deal with the staff often enough to know how they speak or how they send emails.. so in their opinion it could be rude or short.. and that’s totally fine because that’s all feedback really is.. someone’s opinion and everyone has a right to that..
so most of the time I don’t pay much attention to feedback unless it’s really low.. because I normally don’t go by anyone else’s opinion.. I want to find out for myself and form my own….
I think that’s partly why ebay has the new rules to let buyers freely express their opinions without worrying what anyone will say…
everyone should be entitled to their own opinion without having to feel like it’s wrong or there is something wrong with them…
that being said.. it’s one little feedback posting out of close to 2000… what is the big deal?
there’s always going to be one transaction that doesn’t go smoothly.. and it’s just a little bit too nosey to want to know the details…

Being that it is on the net and in the public eye, much more having connection with a business, it has to be taken seriously even if it is a joke. Nam may have sounded harsh, but she has to be sure to get across that even as a joke, that is not something we want to joke about because it can still bring consequences none of us would want, even if it was not intended.

Sheesh, the cake was just going to get eaten anyway, right? What kinds of things would they complain about, purplecat?

That’s why you should put “Just Kidding!” or “Just Joking!”– as you said, one can’t tell tone over the internet. Saying we should send hateful things isn’t much of a joke anyway.

I have a friend whose Mom owned a flower shop while she was growing up. I made the mistake once of saying that must have been a relaxing job – being arourn all the beautiful flowers. I got an earful of how stressful the job was and how you could never, ever pay her enough to work for a florist again. Besides being really busy every holiday she mentioned all the bridzellas and their gangs. I guess people get really stressed out around weddings and take it out on the poor florists, bakers, etc.

ROFL!!! are you kidding? People are severely anal over their wedding cakes….and in general..mother in laws are worse than the brides!!! The exact shading of the icing for the roses, there being a slight dimple in this or that part of the icing…. because the wedding has to be perfect in every way, and that means the cake too! π π π π You learn to take it in stride though, and still give them the best cake possible, so that everyone can be happy with the event. π

I have a simple solution: never get married. XD
Windstone collector in remission. π
September 28, 2008 at 2:33 pm #733709lol….Chris and I just got married at the Courthouse, there wasnt any cake or stuff like that. I cant stand being in front of large groups of people…or small groups of people…so honestly, I was fine with that. So, we didnt have a wedding cake, but I do an anniversary cake every year, which we enjoy. π
September 28, 2008 at 3:40 pm #733710You sure have to be patient when you work with people. Fussing over a dimple in the frosting just sounds silly. π
September 28, 2008 at 7:46 pm #733711Have pie instead of cake… π I like pie better, anyway! (and I too, will never work as a florist again *urgh*)
