How old are your dogs, Ski?

They turned 7 on Feb 29th, and Apr 26th. They are acting their age, too. They get smoked just walking to the store! (Its only a block or two away)
June 6, 2007 at 2:27 pm #5819437? Isn’t that that middle-aged? Our old dog is 12.

Meh… the bigger the dog, the shorter the life span, is a general rule. Mine are over 100lbs. Rotts usually live between 8-12 years, depending on which website you check.
June 6, 2007 at 7:09 pm #581945I hope your dog is OK and gets to come home right away. I have a 11 1/2 yr. old chow chow and a few years ago he managed to break his lower back tooth on both side chewing on horse hoves (the ones you buy at the pet store) The vet had to dig the roots out on both sides and he came home the next day like nothing had happened. He doesn’t get horse hoves anymore.
June 6, 2007 at 7:15 pm #581946Skigod377 if your dog is just limping you might have your vet check him for arthritis that is what was wrong with mine and he is on Rimadyl. It is rather expensive but he is worth it like most of you I would do anything for him. If you ever need the arthritis medicine the cheapest way to purchase it is thru PetMeds either at 1-800-PetMeds or online.
June 6, 2007 at 8:20 pm #581947Sorry to hear that LIH, I hope she feels better. My dogs sleep in the garage in their own bed. I can’t let them run around in the house by themselves or they will tear up the carpet. So they are usually confined to the places that don’t have carpet unless I watch them.
June 6, 2007 at 10:31 pm #581948Well my little girl is home and the extraction went beautifully. She’s still under the effect of the sedation though. She is so pitiful 🙁 weaving left and right, and she had trouble getting in and out the the car!
And she won’t let me out of her sight. I go to the living room, she weaves her way to the living room. I go back to the bedroom, again she follows me. Now I don’t want to move because she looks so tired and I don’t want her to get up again.
I know I’m being silly, but I hate it when she feel bad!
Anyway, the vet was very happy with the extraction and the general state of her health and blood tests and her teeth. So I guess I’m happy too.
June 6, 2007 at 10:39 pm #581949I’m glad it all went well and she is home 😀
June 6, 2007 at 10:54 pm #581950YAY, glad she is home. I bet she missed you.
June 6, 2007 at 11:13 pm #581951Glad to hear she’s doing okay. 😀

Over 100 lbs? I wonder how much ‘Rousch’ weighs…
