Have you looked into a house loan yet? Because we thought we would have to have money saved up, and discovered since we had never owned a home before, we qualified for a no down payment mortgage loan. We bought our house last Oct.
I do understand your reasons for going. I hope that once you do get your house, you can come back.
We’ll miss you, if you think you can resist temptation, please do drop in now and again and let us know how you are doing.

But saving money is really important. I hope you get your house soon, and good luck with everything!
Ditto π I hope you’re able to pop back in once in a while so we know how you’re doing!

I would in fact be eligible for that as well, but the mortgage payments would just be too high. I am buying this house by myself, so I want to have a really comfortable margin of error, just in case something happens.
As for popping back once in a while, I don’t know yet, I guess we’ll see.
But you never know, I might win the lottery and then you’d never be rid of me π
May 29, 2007 at 5:19 pm #581899You’ll be missed LIH. I give you credit for your willpower. A roof over your head does come first. Hopefully you will be able to collect again in the future and stop in here once in a while.
May 29, 2007 at 5:26 pm #581900I am sorry your leaving! But as everyone else has said, it will be much easier to save with out temptation. I hope all works out with you, you will be missed! π
May 29, 2007 at 5:43 pm #581901I’m sorry to hear you are leaving, LIH, but I totally understand. I do much better when I don’t see things that tempt me. It’s along the same idea as not having chocolate in the house. Good luck with the house hunting!
May 29, 2007 at 7:06 pm #581902Sorry to hear that you are leaving. It has been a pleasure buying stuff from you and I hope you come back and visit us.
May 29, 2007 at 7:24 pm #581903I completely understand your reasoning and I’ve thought about doing the same a few times because I have ended up buying a few Windstones this year because of this forum and because I was able to get them for a really good price but they are still something I shouldn’t buy *hugs* So I get where you are coming from and even though we’ll miss you, I respect that you are trying to do the best you can to save money.
May 30, 2007 at 12:08 am #581904Best of luck to you! You will be missed!
While hiding somewhere in my head I'm on the lookout for white oriental dragons! Please let me know if you know of any available. Thank you!
May 30, 2007 at 3:50 am #581905Very best of luck! I would be more than happy to get a copy of the database and keep it up. I have Microsoft Access and Excel and am very familiar with databases….
I would suggest you pick a few people to pass the database on to, to make sure it is preserved. It is a great tool and I have bought at least two pieces based on the prices you have collected. If you have any pieces that don’t sell here, PM me and I may go ahead and take them at whatever agreed on price we come to.
I know all about saving for houses and getting priorities straight and you are doing the right thing! That is why it has taken me 20 years to go from 20 Windstones to 40…..
Get your stuff all straight and you can always come back…..there isn’t any limit on collecting π But it is addictive….
I wish you the best of luck…and please let someone here know how you are….so they can pass it on to the rest of us……
And…don’t do any of those interest only loans…get a simple interest, fixed rate….My house is currently finaced at 4.5% for 15 years…and will be paid this year or next depending….you can take a 30 + year loan to get a cheaper monthly note and later refinance for less time if the interest rate drops….trust me….and PM me if you have any questions….this is our second house that we will have paid off….you don’t have to be rich…just smart!!! I am 37 and my husband is 41….you can do it!!!! You are gonna be soooooooo happy π
Good Luck!!!
May 30, 2007 at 7:05 am #581906Hey LIH, What did you get for the old green dragon? I know he is pretty rare. I was just curious.
May 30, 2007 at 11:30 am #581907keschete: Thanks for the advice and the good wishes! And I will send the database to as many people as ask for it, just send me your email.
Ski: I would really prefer to let the buyer answer that one… If they choose to do so π On my part, let’s just say I got an offer I couldn’t refuse π
May 30, 2007 at 12:00 pm #581908Sorry to hear that littleiron, i hope all goes well for you.
You never know in a few years time you may be hunting Windstones down once again 8) πMay 30, 2007 at 12:06 pm #581909littleironhorse wrote:keschete: Thanks for the advice and the good wishes! And I will send the database to as many people as ask for it, just send me your email.
Ski: I would really prefer to let the buyer answer that one… If they choose to do so π On my part, let’s just say I got an offer I couldn’t refuse πI understand perfectly. There are only a few out there, so they are pretty valuable. At least to me. I was just curious… but buyer, if you want to tell, I would love to know.
