although a girl I used to work with was bidding on one….and her brother tried to help her out but got in a bidding war with someone on it…..and they ended up paying $475 for it….

That went higher than even silly bidding wars ought to account for. I seriously thing that the winner is somebody who knows the seller and wants to help them out. It fits. Though I suppose there’s no accounting for human stupidity, and it could be something else.
WOAH! Had to be friends of the seller! If I could sell mine for that much I would and he’s MINT! Damn!

Just 2 people with REALLY high bids at the very end by the looks. They didn’t have any prior bids either. Hell! They could have gotten the last Secret Keeper for that price!!! LOL!
Hopefully it is really good friends trying to help out with the medical bills and not some kind of mistake for the sellers sake.

Sounds like two friends who had a plan to help. If it was a bidding war, it would have gona back an forth and back and forth. It must be nice to have friends like that. I will check back on this and see if they actually pay. That will be enough to confirm its a friend.
W-W-d-h…yikes! He’s not even the pretty stripey one! Although it could be two people being stupid and getting someone’s hopes up. The high bidder is a french person and the second high bidder deals in antique and expensive watches. Third high bidder is dragonessjade.
one of them i in the UK one is in france, the frinds helping out would hold for me if they, or at least one was near NJ, where the seller is, but I really wonder if it wasnt 2 people screwing around.

Hmmm…yep. Thats sounds fishy. Kinda messed up, too.
I only say that because one of the auctions for the PS3 I looked at was at 99,999.90. It is the one I had posted, some guy had bid 9000.00, but then 2 others had went up to that. Now on the page it as the sale price as 9000.00.
