I posted this in the “Calling all model horse collectors!” thread, then realized it really belongs here. This is an exact copy/paste, except I realized that the ones I said were bought in 1980 were probably bought in 1979 and 1978.
====
Once upon a time (40 years ago), in a land far away (well, California coast is 1800 miles from eastern Missouri), I collected Breyers. Most of my collection was destroyed by my oldest brother, but the last several that I got are in very good condition. I also have an older one in moderate condition. I lost interest in my teens, and haven’t regained the interest. The ones with boxes have been in them ever since. Is anyone interested in buying any of these?

“Diablo” semi-rearing Mustang in buckskin, Traditional, Pre-1978, possibly as early as 1974. The one older survivor. He has rubs, and the box is long gone.
Quarter Horse Foal in palomino, Classic, 1979. Didn’t come in box. Currently in hiding, thanks to my cats.
Andalusian Family gift set original release in white stallion, dapple mare, and dark chestnut foal, Classic, 1979. In box, box has medium damage on bottom panel.
Thoroughbred Mare and Foal (Suckling Foal) gift set in bay mare and chestnut foal, Traditional, probably 1978. In box, which is in fairly good condition for age.
Proud Arabian Stallion in Mahogany, Traditional, probably 1979. In box, but box is heavily damaged by damp plaster. Horse was in plastic bag and is undamaged.

I can take pictures of any that people are interested in, except the AWOL Quarter Horse Foal. Obviously, that one won’t be for sale until I find it!

Do you have Facebook, Garden? I could direct you to several sales groups, if you’re interested! :’)

I do have facebook sorta, but I avoid it. I abandon an account when they demand I upload a photo ID to prove who I am. I do NOT trust facebook when they say it will be deleted right away. I have strong political beliefs, and I am not interested in providing a way for certain types to dox me.
Maybe I’ll make yet another new account again.

Hey, GardenNinja!  Fancy meeting you here.  😀

I’m tentatively interested in the PAS, depending on his color and condition.  Shoot me a pic, or post here?  (No rush!)

Thank you!

Hi Nightcrow!
He is Mahogany. Overall, he is in very good condition, though not quite as good as I thought.
He has a factory flaw bump on the left front corner that collected extra paint on one side, making that bit darker than the rest. He also has a factory flaw unpainted spot on the underside by a front leg, which cannot be seen unless you turn him upside down. He has lost the paint from the very tips of his ears, and has a little paint scraped off of the back of hind hoof.
I can only take indoor pics right now – it has warmed up to 8°F / -13°C, but that is still too >bleeping< cold to even open a door. I can take better pictures another day if these interest you.

Thank you for posting those!   (And wow, you have awesome model horse photography skills; those pictures came out really crisp and detailed!)

I was hoping he was one of the darker ones; I had a beautiful one that I sold, and kind of regret it, so I was thinking about replacing him if I could find another one that looked like him.

I know what you mean about not opening any doors; the wind outside is howling here even though the snow and sleet have stopped falling.  Going to work was a pain and a half, what with having to chisel ice off the car and creeping along on frozen roads.  Ugh!   Who invented winter, anyway?  🙂
