Hello Melody!
I was just wondering about your Black Golds. Why is it some parts of them aren’t painted? The Scratchers underside is not painted the same as his neck (purple/gold) and the young dragon’s one underside also isn’t painted the purple/gold, just left black.
Is there any reason these dragons are painted differently? Thanks 😀

July 10, 2007 at 2:36 am #598188I’ve wondered the same thing about my young BG dragon.
July 10, 2007 at 3:38 pm #598189Along a similar line, why are some glossy and some are matte finished?? I like the gloss finish, but it seems really inconsistent.
July 10, 2007 at 4:58 pm #598190I love the flat sheen on the black! If they were glossy like the others it just wouldn’t be as nice for some reason. I STILL am DYING for Black and Gold Spectrals *squeak*

July 10, 2007 at 5:43 pm #598192My black gold lap has amazing color and is super glossy but my fledgie is really dull and the belly portion is black instead of the gold-red-purple colors they’re supposed to be. My male has really awesome color too but the inconsistency is why I don’t have many black golds…I noticed when I had a busted up scratcher in here at one time and he was nearly solid black…
July 10, 2007 at 5:52 pm #598193My fledgie is like yours, PC: the belly’s black, and there’s not a lot of gold where it should be. I wish my fledgie looked like the one in the store; that one’s got great color. He’s too cute for it to matter too much though.:D But my Emperor is fantastic… a lot of color & it goes all the way down to the bottom. Both of mine are satiny… not really matte, but definitely not glossy. But I really like the satin finish for the BGs; it’s just like my Ball Python!
July 10, 2007 at 6:53 pm #598194My fledgie also has the black under belly but my emperor is the same colors all the way down. After taking a second look at some of my fledgies I noticed my ruby fledgling also has black on his under belly which my emperor does not.

Your ruby fledge has a black belly? How weird… The only black on my ruby pieces (fledge, lap, scratcher) is a little ring around their eyes (antique-like) and a tiny bit of shading on the Lap’s tail (tho that may be a darker red).
July 11, 2007 at 5:53 am #598196Yes, also wondered about the glossy and matte finishes on the blacks. My Scratcher BG is SUPER shiny, but my Lap is weird. His head is shiny but the rest of his body is not 😕

September 6, 2007 at 6:38 am #598198my bg scratcher’s colour ends like where his foot is, the fledge’s colour fades out on his belly, all of mine seem to have the satiny finish
September 6, 2007 at 7:06 am #598199some how i missed this. I had too wondered that about my young BG.
