Bad News :( Pixie: July 1994 – June 25, 2009

I called my parents…

Apparently the throwing up blood thing was a bad reaction to some medication she was taking, they have her off of it now. And now that’s she’s off of it, apparently she’s looking much better, enough that my dad is hopeful that she’ll make the summer.

I just went through this “She’s dying, no wait, she’s fine” thing last year! I wish they wouldn’t tell me anything until she was literally on death’s door so that I’m not getting jerked around. But at the same time, I want to know how she’s doing because she’s my puppy. 🙁 I feel so conflicted over the whole thing.

Stressed. Tired. A bit depressed. But I’ll live. The good news is good…. I guess.

I don’t think I’ll be able to get up there again before the summer ends though, so the last time I saw her was probably still the last time. 😥

Update: I got told today that they’re putting her down next Thursday. I’m going down there on Saturday or Sunday and staying until Monday night (work was more then understanding, don’t I have a great job).

I’m so sorry about your dog. We all know the day will come when we will say our last goodbye to our beloved pets. I’ve had to put down 2 dogs in my life and it isn’t easy. I was there when the vet did it and it is so sad. The vet isn’t happy about it either but they know it’s best for the animal. As my vet told me once, this is our last gift to them–to end the pain and let them go in peace surrounded by those they love. It won’t be easy and I’m crying a bit for you right now as I write this. 😥 We’ll all be thinking of you next Thursday. {hugs}

I am very sorry, Dragon. I thought she would pull through. As everyone said, I’m glad you can spend some time with her before she is put down. You do have a good job.
