I hope your chick sells Dragon.
I was wondering if anyone has asked Melody how she feels about the whole reselling thing.
If it were me (being the mean one) I would be sitting back and thinking, I should raise my prices. I mean if I was selling something for 60.00 and found people were more than willing to pay 100.00 (or 200.00), I would sure as heck think about raising my prices. Of course, I am not as nice as Melody, so who knows. It just seems like a slap to me. If you were to calculate the batch of 25 chicks. That would have been 1K more in Melody’s pocket if she would have charged 100.00.I know Windstone as a company is super super, beyond nice, but if they start seeing people buying their product just to resell on ebay within a month of offering the piece, it’s going to become evident they need to raise their prices.
I am not pointing at anyone in particular, but between the curlies and the chicks, it’s becoming more of a practice.
I don’t really want to get slammed here, though I know I probably will. I just think it starts to get totally unfair to Windstone if this becomes a habit and we will all pay in the end.
You are not gonna get slammed (by me anyway 😆 ). I know Melody said ( I think in the pink eyed griffin topic) she loves seeing things go for more than originally paid, but I dont think she meant a week after the auction….but who knows. I could be wrong. 🙂
March 13, 2007 at 7:41 pm #549621And Dragon, I can totally relate to your mom. I hope you find a way out. No one should have to live that.
March 13, 2007 at 7:42 pm #549622Phoenix has a good point. I don’t want to condemn you, drag0n – you obviously need the money, and I hope the sale of the chick will help you out. But I don’t condone it either, and this reselling could get really dangerous for the rest of us. I, for my part, am going to buy only what I intend to keep.

I AGREE COMEPLETELY, that’s why I hate seeing people do it! I just bite my tounge on the forum now because I’m afraid of what people would say and I’m sick of debating on the subject to be completely honest. I realize this makes me a total hypocrite right now, but as someone said, I have to do what I have to do & if someone doesn’t want to do the research and overpays then that’s their bad.
It’s not like I don’t try to help, I contact people all the time who are bidding on green fledgies, brown direct sales dragons, and cowpies and tell them about the direct sales page. I get alot of thankyous and then Melody gets the business, but I also get people telling me to mind my own business. Sometimes ignorance is bliss I guess.

I don’t want to see the price of Windstones go up.And Dragon, let me get an idea for a commision and that’ll help. I usually pay up front, so all I need is an idea. Got any good ones?

Hey drag0n, in German there’s a saying that “the exception confirms the rule.” I’m not sure whether there’s a counterpart in English, but anyway, it’ll apply to yourself and I don’t think too many folks here are bothered by this case. I’m not. 😉
March 13, 2007 at 7:55 pm #549626We have a similar saying.
March 13, 2007 at 8:01 pm #549627What is it Star? I can’t think of it.
March 13, 2007 at 8:06 pm #549628I think ours is “the exception proves the rule”, which is very similar.
March 13, 2007 at 8:07 pm #549629Prove, confirm – close enough. Thanks for teaching me another tidbit about my mother tongue, star. 😆
March 13, 2007 at 8:10 pm #549630Any time 😉
March 13, 2007 at 8:19 pm #549631Hmmm. What does it mean?
I love proverbs, but sometimes I’m too thick to understand them.
How can an exception prove a rule?March 13, 2007 at 8:23 pm #549632Maybe “confirm” is the better rule. What it means is that you have a rule, an accepted way of doing something, but when you need to step outside the lines once, it shows the sense of the rule.
Does that help?March 13, 2007 at 8:31 pm #549633I think the point is there is always an exception to every rule. No rule is absolute. At least that’s my interpretation.
March 13, 2007 at 8:34 pm #549634I never thought of it that way. Of course, that might be the difference in the meanings of “prove” and “confirm.” 😆
