I know Drag0nfeathers, we’re cool really. I just wanted to straighten it out before someone read more into it than you actually meant. You are more or less in the boat I have been in for the last year. Too many sculpts in your house not yours that you have to work on.
I tried with the communication thing, problem was I was having some serious password issues with the Windstone forum, kept being locked out of messages cause I couldn’t remember my password & the system wasn’t letting me reset it, finally had to get Jennifer to fix, but then I would promptly forget the dang thing again. X{
Email has been an ongoing problem, I go through & tell it what is spam what isn’t & it labels the legit messages as spam & the spam as legit messages. I get about 100+ spam messages a day, & maybe…maybe one or two actual emails from someone I know in a week, add that up…how am I to find those one or 2 in that?
I think I will be able to keep up if folks want to message me on here now, I plan to check back at least once a week from now on. If anyone really really needs me, tell Laurie, I will jump on & respond.
Oh & if you mean it, I will take you up on the offer of peanuts, I need to send a mess of Windstones to Scotland & I don’t feel comfy trying to use newspapers & whatever I can get my paws on. PM me.

November 2, 2011 at 3:53 am #861508For what its worth, I don’t think the customer should be in charge of keeping in touch with a person who owes them a service or product, regardless of the type of communication used. Just a friendly word of advice for anyone here who offers a service or product, even if you think your customers have a way of easily contacting you, you should always have an easy way of contacting THEM too (have their email, address, AND phone number) so YOU can notify them of delays or problems if they occur. 🙂
November 2, 2011 at 3:38 pm #861522Yeah that would help, Pam. Sadly while I make sure they have all these things from me, I don’t always get them from my customers, I guess I need to make that a policy.

November 2, 2011 at 10:24 pm #861571Oh yes, like 2-3 LARGE trash bags full I’d guess I have of peanuts Kyrin. All mixed, some are the biodegradable kind, some styrofoam but they’re all jumbled up in bags and boxes. If you want to pay me just to ship them to you, you can HAVE them! LOL!
Got a busted Windstone?

AND if I saw something on here that I thought she needed to know about I called her and told her. So, like Kyrin said, If anyone has a problem contacting her, EMAIL me 2Huberts@prodigy.net As a matter of fact, Sapphire and her email don’t click, so anytime she needs to contact Kyrin, and vice-versa she emails and I call then forward. Problem solved. And remember, Jen and Drupal have both tried to fix my pm notification and neither was able to do it, so if I don’t expect a pm I don’t check. hence the email address I always try to put on here. What…..4000 different posts with it? 😉

Ariankantara, I definitely hope that you got at least a little cash back on that uni. What a pity! I also hope you can either get him fixed, or maybe get an unbroken one. I’d have to echo what Kyrin said in that those little legs might have more difficulty holding up the body if repaired. That being said, if any of it can be glued, there are some fantastically strong glues out there that shouldn’t leave much doubt that it’ll hold. But he’s pretty smashed up. You might want to see if you have enough large pieces so that there’s glue holding the weight and the sculpting would only be filler. Good luck!
November 4, 2011 at 9:58 pm #861713Actually if there is enough spaces in the legs that ApoxieSculpt would be a large part of the support, it would actually be a good thing. AS is tough stuff.
If I were to try to fix this, I would do it upside down, with no weight on the legs until they were fully restored, then stand him up & see if it can be trusted or not, keeping a light hold on him, just in case.
I hope you get some kind of compensation for this guy, & if you want to give repairing it a shot, let me know, I am actually very interested in challenging my repair skills against this one.
Kyrin
P.S. Sorry about the thread hijack, didn’t mean to. 🙁
August 12, 2012 at 9:48 pm #884635Wow, I’ve been off the forum for so long now that I completely forgot I had this guy sitting boxed up on the top of my bookshelf. I have since sent a PM Kirin’s way. I never did get anything back from the seller and going through eBay’s claim center was going to cost me half of what I paid for him since I would have had to ship him back to the seller. International postage for him was something like $35 and it was not reimbursable according to whomever contacted me from eBay. I decided just to keep him in hopes of a future repair when I got the funds for it.
August 26, 2013 at 11:18 pm #901816Well I also FINALLY got a grand unicorn as well (from ebay) and he arrived today with the exact same damage. 🙁
I want to cry. I won’t EVER buy Windstones from Ebay again unless it’s from Windstone themselves. 🙁August 26, 2013 at 11:43 pm #901818Agh! My heart bleeds for you! Its awful to get a broken statue. I wouldn’t give up on ebay though; you just need to contact the seller BEFORE you bid to ask if a) they are double boxing the statue and b) will purchase insurance for the shipment. Since I’ve been contacting the sellers I’ve never received a broken statue (my very first purchase did get broken). If the seller doesn’t agree to double boxing, don’t bid.
Good luck!
August 27, 2013 at 12:08 am #901819Thing is I did contact them and they did double box with tons of packing peanuts. Problem was the unicorn was wrapped in very little bubble wrap inside box so could still move around regardless of all the packing peanuts around inside box. If they had wrapped unicorn enough so it wouldn’t move then he would have got here safe. Outside box had no damage but because he could move around his horn lifted and legs and tail broke off then scratched his body up from moving around. They did attempt a good packaging job just not enough. 🙁 thank you for your response. I will give them time to refund me but if not I guess I will be leaving my very first negative rating on Ebay. 🙁
August 27, 2013 at 12:16 am #901820Oh, I am sorry it didn’t work out!
Better luck next time??August 27, 2013 at 12:29 am #901821Thank you 🙂
August 27, 2013 at 1:05 am #901823Sorry about your broken unicorn! The biggest pieces I have bought off ebay have been a male unicorn and female pegasus. The pegasus seller wasn’t really sure how to double box so I explained it and yet when I opened the box and saw a bunch of newspaper around the inner box, I was afraid to open it. Luckily it was fine as there was enough paper to cushion it. The male unicorn was similar in packing but had some air filled packets which helped so it also was fine but I will say the air filled packets scare me. I have had a couple boxes arrive with air packets pooped on one side or on top and once the pop, they are not protecting your piece and allowing the inner box space to move around. So lots of bubble wrap and packing peanuts are the best option. I usually only buy smaller items off ebay though so those are a bit safer bet of not getting broken. Hope you can get yours fixed!
Looking for rainbow or pink & teal grab bags!
August 27, 2013 at 1:51 am #901824Asking for double boxing on ebay is certainly a good precaution. Personally, I have purchased pieces on ebay from several different sellers, from Emperor Dragons to Spectral dragons to Flap Cats. The only pieces that I have ever had break were two flap cats that were double boxed, but had been bubble wrapped back to back, so that they spent the entire trip chipping pieces off of each other.
Sorry about your unicorn, it sucks when any Windstone gets broken due to lack of attention to careful packaging. And the sellers always seem to act like it isn’t their fault for being careless.
Hope you can get your money back.
