I suspect that the seller simply has an error in their shipping calculator- asking them about their shipping may clear things up. This does happen and often the seller is not aware it is even goofed up!

That’s what I’m thinking. The lowest it goes is about $155 for local delivery. So we’d have to assume a $145 “handling and insurance” charge added to a regular calculation. But then the cost to California would be around $165; not the $195 that it actually seems to be. There seems to be a “zone” element that is somehow being multiplied by the number you first thought of, instead of being added. Or something.

You live in Hawaii. UPS Ground to Hawaii is at least double what it is within the Continental USA. If the erroneous calculation has it as being almost $200 to CA, then $400 to HI would be about right. I mean, about “right”, since clearly it is wrong…
Probably put a decimal in the wrong place, and came up weird. I had fun with the shipping calculator when I sold my griffin. Gah.
That calculation has to be a mistake. Unless that dragon is going around the world in 80 days before it gets to me! 😆

That’s ridiculous. I can have an SK shipped to me for that money.
I checked the link and my shipping came out to 48.55, not bad for the emperor. My brother shipped one once, and because of the weight and the large size. The USPS charged him for the oversized box. This was because he double-boxed it to make sure it got there in one piece. Maybe the shipping calculator got fixed? thanks, papergirl
