You know, at this point all you’re doing is dragging your *own* name through the mud, not Ski’s.
Were I you, I’d pick my battles with far more prudence then you’ve exercised in this particular instance.
What she said!
Ditto!!!
March 31, 2008 at 11:16 pm #685151Why should Ski be out another box plus shipping? If she wanted to file a claim she should have kept the box.

well…that wouldn’t work…sending an empty box…and trying to claim insurance from a different box…would be kind of like mail fraud…and stuff like that comes with a big price if you get caught…
March 31, 2008 at 11:25 pm #685153This is why I’m on Ski’s side. That is what insurance is for. If her packing was not at fault, it’s up to tatt2d to file for the claim, or at least keep or retrieve the box so that she can work on a claim with the PO with Ski’s help.
Dragging it out into the public forum and whining about how Ski should make good on a mistake tatt2d made was a very bad move. I never ask other people to compensate me for my own mistakes.
March 31, 2008 at 11:28 pm #685154I don’t know. Just trying to offer solutions to where everyone can be close to happy.
I know Ski packs well. But I’ve received damaged stuff direct from Windstone where the boxes were perfect and we all know they package really well. Stuff happens.
I just think it sucks Tat’s unicorns are broken, and I’m sure she’s frustrated.
Maybe she didn’t vent in the best way, but I still feel her pain.March 31, 2008 at 11:31 pm #685155Rusti wrote:You know, at this point all you’re doing is dragging your *own* name through the mud, not Ski’s.

She thinks she’s right I think I’m right it’s obviously not going anywhere BUT I AM ENTITLED TO MY OPINION. I am picking my own battle thank you I didn’t ask for your advice.

Thanks but no thanks. Obviously I think I’m right and she thinks she’s right and it’s a matter of opinion and nothing’s going to change that. You guys can’t tell me that you get something broken and wouldn’t say something about it Jesus christ

It is YOUR opinion that it is MY mistake. I think her packing WAS at fault considering the outer box was not damaged. I doubt the po would pay on a box that wasn’t damaged anyhow- they would assume the item was sent already broken if they didn’t damage the box on their end. And from what I can tell you’re whining about me whining so how much better does that make it?
March 31, 2008 at 11:44 pm #685158*** EDITED by Jennifer– Macros have their time and place, and we all appreciate a funny one, but ‘macro snarking’ is not something I want to see these forums ‘de-evolve’ into. That’s what places like 4chan are for. 😉 Keep the macros to the silly Caturday icanhascheeseburger style threads, please. ***
March 31, 2008 at 11:47 pm #685159Attitudes affect people’s perceptions of the facts. Ski is being polite and straightforward. You’re being nasty, and denying something which all of us who’ve been on the forums for a long time KNOW is fact. There’s never been another ebay seller with your name, much as you may try to claim some other mysterious person is the person on the black list. Admit to your mistakes, apologize, and try to make them good, and perhaps we’ll be more likely to believe you when you want to claim you’re in the right and somebody else is in the wrong, but when you’re running around lying to people about your past mistakes, why should we believe you about this situation?

I think that’s the best point that’s been made so far. When it comes down to it, all Windstones are very delicate, fragile things. Sometimes even the factory can’t gurantee their safe arrival. So after one has packaged a Windstone to the best of their ability with the pre-approved packing methods, gotten insurance on said package, and it still breaks, people on both ends may need to admit that there was nothing anyone could do. In that case everybody needs to be understanding, work together, and be ready and willing to go to the PO to file a claim. Luckily there are usually no end of patient, helpful people on this lovely forum! 🙂

The post office would know right away that’s not the real box… cause what about the shipping and insurance labels? Those have serial numbers and bar codes assigned to them. There might have been a stamp on there somewhere too. It’s not an option. The original outter box is needed… but that’s in the trash now.

True, but if you throw out the box and packing, is Windstone expected to make good on the sculpture, just on a person’s word?

No. I wasn’t suggesting that. I guess I was more or less commenting on situations where there really is nothing anyone can do, where the seller is not at fault and/or a simple mistake was made on the part of the buyer (throwing away packaging making insurance claims impossible, etc.) Sometimes the recipient must accept the situation and make the best of it. Should have worded it better 🙂
If I remember correctly some people received PYO keepers packed perfectly but with broken horns, and made them beautiful despite the glued-on piece. They made the best of an all-around unfortunate situation and the end result was a gorgeous PYO 🙂

You are certainly entitled to your own opinion, but if you didn’t want our advice or opinions why did you bring all of this up on a public forum in the first place????
