I just dont understand why she expects me to pay for her mistake. The items were very well packed and the post office could have attested to that if she would have kept the packaging. Go to the trash and get it, if you can, lets do the claim. I also cannot understand how she expects me to refund her purchase price… even though they were insured… when she would not do the same for others in this same situation. Its kinda hypocritical, if you ask me.

My e-bay ID is tatt2dcowgrl. Feel free to go look at my feedback- I have negatives from one lady about purchasing model horses where there was a misunderstanding. No negatives about windstones. Feel free to page through all pages of my feedback.

The trash is gone I don’t keep trash I take it to the apartment dumpster.

Im sorry you threw out the packaging. Someone who deals on Ebay and in shipping fragile items, I would think, should be well versed in the claiming of insurance. Your PM to me even stated that you thought you needed the original box to make the claim. I will not pay for your mistake, but if you manage to recover the original box, I would be glad to assist with the claim. As it is, I know that you would not offer a refund if our situations were reversed. To suggest that I should when you would not be willing to do so is hypocritical.

Please, show me this information you have proving I won’t offer a refund?

i used to run a shipping and receiving department for a Catterpillar franchise in Baltimore and rule 1 is check out the package before accepting it . If there is damage, and the damage is so extensive that the item couldnt have possibly survived or there is a hole in the box that the item could have fallen out of do not accept the package. If you do accept it and the item is broken take pictures of the box , the packaging that was in the box … paper , peanuts ( i hate those things) foam ect. and store the pictures in a safe place along with all the packaging and the container itself.

As alot of you know some peanuts are made biodegradable containing corn syrup that melt in contact with liquids (i hate them). If a box is soaking wet take a picture of that too and keep the box and its packing contents . If the packing is the peanuts i spoke of they will turn into a sticky mess and will not protect anything (again i hate them) , also they will addhere to the object pulling off paint so its not a good idea to use them with art of any type . As i said keep the box its very easy to see water damage on card board or even wood and metal containers after it is dry (not that any on here would use wood or metal).

If you dont have pictures and the container with packing your SOL. The shipper may have purchased the insurance but they dont provide the monitary compensation the insurence company does, and they WILL NOT pay out squat if they dont have pictures and the container with packing ready for inspection . I know from experience you can just as easily loose a $500,000 claim because of tossing stuff out as easily as a $50 one . Not even the word of the shipper flies with the insurance company they want proof , no proof no claim , thats just how it goes

The outer box was not at all damaged. I’m not asking for money back and nothing to her I’m saying I will return them to her and then she can refund me.

wow…you know this is another case of someone that should have kept this to PM’s..

and sorry but it can’t be helped if you threw the stuff away and can’t file insurance…

everyone here knows how good Ski packs….and how helpful she is if something goes wrong…

I honestly hope that paypal denies the claim…they can’t help ignorance…and it’s fine you don’t want to buy anything else from Ski anymore…

all the rest of us still will..

and yeah that might sound a little harsh….but crap…you were down right rude…

honestly that doesnt make sence . there had to be some kind of damage to the outter box be it a smashed in corner or tape being reapplied from the machines accidently tearing it off durring shipping in the UPS USPS facillity for the inner box to subsatne damage , even just beeing violently rattled gives some sort of outter damage and those facillities will admitt it happens all the time . The only other way for there to be no damage to the outside is that SKI took out a hammer and smashed up your dragon … and i highly doubt that happened . Regaurdless rules are rules and if there is no proof ( box and packaging in this instance) there is no refund from the company . You bought the insurance therefor Ski has NO responcibillity to take money from her pocket to refund you she didnt misadvertise sayng it was a dragon and you got a chicken instead , so like i said she doesnt have to pull anything from her pocket. If you didnt buy insurance and she only draped a paper towle over the item and you had the proof say the box and paper towle then she is responcible because of poor shipping preperation . Its completely your responcibillity to keep the proof to turn in. In that case that you kept the container and packaging ;im quite certain that Ski would do her part in the claim , but as of now your hands are tied.

It was in PMs… she took it out here so I felt I should tell both sides. Its ok if people dont want to buy from me now… though I will tell you that I insure for a reason and am more than happy to help with the claim if required. I even refunded Arlla FIRST and waited the 8 weeks for my Post office ckeck. She kept the original packing, though.

Yes, ALWAYS keep all shipping materials when something arrives broken!

Not getting in the middle here, but had a question…

I while back, I bought a pegasus stallion and the hatchling from someone on Ebay.
The box arrived and everything was perfect. Strong double walled box.
Inside the baby had been rattling against the stallion and both were damaged.
PO would not refund my money as they said the packager was at fault. The seller wouldn’t refund cause he said the PO was at fault. I was out my dollars and have two broken Windstones for my trouble.
Not saying this happened here, but more asking advice. What would have been the best way to get a refund>

I have actually never had the PO say that packing was substandard… even if it was. I would have taken it to another post office and tried again. If not, maybe thru paypal to get my money back, though its doubtful that would help in a case of back packing.

Oh Phoenix, that sucks. If the two pieces weren’t in separate boxes inside the outer box then the packager/seller really was at fault for not taking enough precautions to ensure they arrived safe. Wish I knew how to help you out.

                    If I may suggest…

Before making stuff like that public, consult a moderator. Jennifer is very, very helpful in matters like this.

I agree with Frozen, it seems harsh and rude to post it like that.

Now that said, I’ve bought from Ski on more than one occasion and never had any problems.

Read my books! Volume 1 and 2 of A Dragon Medley are available now.

Thinking about it logically, how would the Post Office ever be able to settle a claim if no one kept the boxes and packing materials?

If you threw out the proof that would get you a refund, you’re going to have to take the responsibility and the loss. Ski has nothing to do with your mistake.

It is a painful/expensive lesson, but one that should be handled with some grace and maturity.

I truly appreciate your guys’s support, esp since this was brough out so publicly. Thank you.

She opened a claim with paypal and I upgraded it to a dispute. Hopefully, if enough people (me, you, the paypal people) tell her that I should not pay for her mistake, then maybe she will begin to believe it. As it is, her johari window is a bit smudged.
