This is the post of the guy who ripped me off on Craigslist. He is a liar and a cheat! Do NOT
believe him about his Windstone statues being in MINT condition. ( read first warning post )
Pay Pal will not do anything to help me because the purchase was ” outside ” of Ebay. He got away
with my money and I am stuck with a VERY NON MINT Windstone statue! Please don’t be his next
victim.Official Lord Of The Rings Chess Set – $300 (Philadelphia)

Lord of the Rings Collector’s Chess Set, Fellowship Of The Ring Edition I have had this for years now. I have kept it in the original packaging, since I bought it. I never put it on display, but I have played about 6 games of chess with it. There is no damage of any kind, except to the packaging itself. The chess set it fine. This is an OFFICIAL CHESS SET. Meaning, that it is the limited edition Lord of the rings merchandise, created by WETA on Contract from New Line Cinema for the NOBLE Collection. As you can see by the link I provided below, these Chess sets, (the newer ones) are worth $495.00 dollars. I do not know how much the older first and 2nd editions are worth.
Lord of the Rings Collector’s Chess Set
http://www.noblecollection.com/catalog/product.cfm?id=NN2990&catid=17Well, The chess set I have is from one of the first batches, I have the Registered certificate of Authenticity.
Now, here’s how this works. I do not want to sell this. I do not want to sell any of the other collectibles I have to list in a little while, but due to a family emergency, I have to. I am asking $300, again, this set is worth $495. So, don’t e-mail me asking for some ridiculously low price just because the packaging as a few scrapes and the foam padding is chipped on the OUTSIDE, don’t e-mail me asking questions, like the size, how many pieces, etc. You can get all that info on the link I provided for you above. Only contact me if you are seriouse about buying this. Don’t ask me to hold it for you for a month, or 3 weeks, blah blah blah.
DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT ASKING ME TO SHIP THIS OVERSEAS to some place like Nigeria, because the Nigerian President’s son really wants to have it, or some other BS line.. Because it aint gonna happen!
So anyone seriously interested please contact me.
I will also have other listings, Lord Of The Rings Collectibles Limited edition Dragons by M. Pena of Windstone Editions, And A bunch of HALO collectibles, as well as Aliens, Predator, and Aliens vs Predator collectibles. All of them are limited editions too. So, I’ll be listing those shortly.

So what dragon did you end up getting form him, do you ahve any pics of the dragon that you can possibly share.
Marzena
July 21, 2010 at 5:26 am #821700It is an emerald rising spectral dragon. I don’t have any pictures of it because
Pay Pal didn’t care so they didn’t need any proof of it not being mint. I did keep all the emails
he sent me especially the one that he tells me it is Mint but it has a bent tag.I can take pictures later today but I can’t post pictures in the forum. ( I don’t belong to a picture sharing web site) I can email them to someone who can post pictures, then they could post them for me.
My best friend is the one who put my Avatar on but she is moving out by the end of the month and I don’t want to trouble her with it. So anyone who would be willing to post the pictures for me, please PM me with your email address and I will get them over to you ASAP.
ThanksJuly 22, 2010 at 8:31 pm #821701What part of him wasn’t mint?
July 22, 2010 at 9:14 pm #821702Wow….. the guy is kind of a douche right off the bat in his listing.

July 23, 2010 at 1:03 am #821706Man, I feel bad for you. He looks like he has a lot of jade on him! What are you going to do with the poor fella 🙁
July 23, 2010 at 1:32 am #821707I don’t know what I am going to do with him yet. Maybe I will take offers on him
from anyone that is interested in either having him repaired or repairing him themselves.July 23, 2010 at 4:23 am #821708Yeah in what world would that be mint? I could see missing a flea bite but that chip on the wing!! and reading that odd listing…seams like a jerk. Thanks for the warning and sorry about the messed up dragon.
July 23, 2010 at 6:56 pm #821709Oh my that is awful! I am so sorry 🙁
I just had an almost similar experience on craigslist. I am selling a Guitar and I got an email asking if it was still for sale. I responded yes it was. Next thing I know I get another email saying that they will pay with a bank certified check and that they needed my name, address, and my phone number. They would send the check in the mail and once I deposited it they would get their “son” to pick it up.
I am about to just quit my cragslist posting. I might as well stick to ebay and this forum. People are getting so desperate, I don’t see how they can sleep at night.July 24, 2010 at 12:06 am #821710Oh man, that really is awful! Such a beautiful dragon too. It is obvious the guy lied to you, since you found no chips in the box it came in and he’s avoiding your messages. Drag0n is right, he does sound like a total douche in that LOTR chess set ad. I’m willing to bet that isn’t as nice as he’s claiming either. This is exactly why I avoid buying anything like this on Craigslist, and I’ve even stopped buying on Ebay. Except if it’s from Windstone themselves, or a forum member cause they know how to pack.
I’m so sorry you got ripped off Pixiedust, and it sucks that Paypal won’t do anything about it. It’s still a beautiful dragon though, and maybe worth getting repaired. I know there are a few really great Windstone doctors on this forum who could probably fix him up to look like new.
July 24, 2010 at 1:01 am #821711I was taken aback when I saw the photos, because I have mint [the plant] about that color and I thought “I can see describing that dragon as Mint … (with a LOT of warnings about condition)”. Presumably your seller is experienced enough to know how to describe items properly (if he wants to), and your thread does not read like a cross-talk situation – one person saying “Yes, the dragon IS Mint [Green] as I described it”, and the other person saying “No, it definitely is NOT Mint [condition]”.
The dragon certainly is beautiful, even damaged. I’m sure you can find somebody to fix him, or give him a good home, whichever you decide you want! -
