  1. That was an intentional reference to the previous chapter.
Kade got all huffy and insulted when Serence called him a pinky mouse, but here he comes strolling along… all pink and tender.

  2. OK – it bothered me a bit when the brothers were calling each other a pinky mouse, and it bothered me more when the phrase cropped up this time. Not sure why (I like big and little mice).

Aren’t we supposed to believe that Kade is not helpless, with or without his clothes on, and despite what Captain Pol might think?

  3. Eh, I may change the “pinky mouse” comment. I stuck that in at about 5:30 this morning just to put something in there. Sometimes my brilliant ideas don’t come off too well. That’s why I need feedback!

Well WE know he isn’t helpless, but certain others are beginning to think he is pathetic, worthless, and a possible fraud. Kade hasn’t done much so far to prove them wrong.

  4. Maybe this is just a “coming in part-way through” issue. If “a helpless little pinky mouse” is a favorite phrase of the king, I would expect people to copy him.

I hope other readers also give feedback on this page. I shouldn’t be the only opinion!

  5. My theory it, that is how Kade manipulates everyone. They think he is clueless and dismiss him as a threat. When likely he is the most dangerous person there. We had a character like that in our campaign, he never seemed like he did much or was that important to our group, but behind the scenes he was doing a lot that kept us alive and we never guessed.

  6. Yeah, it is an expression that Serence uses to refer to people that are not able to adequately defend themselves, so Pol would of picked it up. I wanted to show that Pol hangs on the king’s words. Pol is always eager to show that he is NOT a … you know. Not sure why he is so worried. He’s not.
