I deleted my current icon and then tried to upload a new one but nothing happens. When I click “edit” again the old icon is suddenly back. The new icon size is the right size so that’s not the issue. I click “browse”, select the new icon pic from my computer, and then nothing. It wont upload. It’s not that big of a deal if I can’t change it, but just want to know if I’m doing something wrong. Is it my computer or the website?

Are you kidding me. Gargoyles was the best show, ever. It changed my life.

It … okay it seems weird to say that about a cartoon, but IT DID.

Man, I miss Gargoyles! When my kids were little we’d all sit down after dinner and watch it as a family.

                    …sigh…miss those days sometimes…

Nah, that’s not weird. 🙂 Pretty cool actually and likely not all that uncommon for a cartoon to have made such an impact. Similarly, there’s been stories told of NASA employees heavily influenced by Star Trek. (Another fav. of mine and considering most of the STNG series bridge crew voiced characters in Gargoyles…heck yeah.) I was exposed to art via my mom early in life but oddly (and sadly) enough, Dragon Ball Z is what really got me into art in my pre-teen years, though I have to say now I’m an adult I can’t stand DBZ. It’s like, “Why did I watch this?” *ducks and runs for cover* Sorry DBZ fans.

In my opinion, Gargoyles suffered from the same thing a lot of good cartoons did. It was way ahead of its time. Apparently still is because it remians banned in a small amount of countries. Sad it was a short lived series and I’m still amazed how much more liberal cartoons were back then with blood, guns, and death (of sorts). Geeze Disney, what happened to you? Eh, I could ramble on forever with this subject. Showing some restraint here.

Aw…I picked up DBZ early in college and I still love it (though I much prefer it in the original Japanese). Even picked up on it’s earlier show ‘Dragonball’. T_T Oh well, to each their own. Gargoyles was (and is) an excellent show. It’s also a favorite of mine along with Star Trek. Gargoyles is also finally being released on DVD (at last).

Oh, don’t get me wrong, DBZ is not a bad show. I just grew out of it is all. The graphic novels and the original show (like you mentioned) are much better I bet. It just seemed like most of the episodes they stood around staring at each other and making threats. Maybe that was an English dub problem? IDK. Dragonball was much better than DBZ (IMO) but GT, man that one was terrible…again IMO. So there’s a “new” DBZ movie coming out soon. Thought that was interesting. Not sure if I’ll make an effort to watch it though. Depends.

I ended up investing in the Gargoyles DVD’s seasons 1 and 2 (vol. 1&2). They still haven’t released season 3 I guess? I had no idea they were only “recently” released on dvd. Talk about good timing to revisit the series. I’m happy to watch the show all over again because I honestly do not remember much about it. The last time I watched this show I was like 7 or 8 years old. EEESH. Apparently there’s a few comic books that are a continuation of the Gargoyles story. Might have to invest in those eventually. *shrug*

-laughs- I’m not offended in the slightest! After all, everyone has their own tastes. And with Dragonball Z, you are NOT wrong. There is a saga in the show that is EXACTLY like you describe. Mostly standing around and powering up/glaring at each other/making threats (in the original as well as the dub). The manga is much better paced in that particular saga. And GT…eh…er…sorry, don’t care for that part much either (wasn’t actually written by the creator and we all know how that tends to go ^_^;). What else can I say…GT was questionable. And Dragonball was and is a fun show (IMO). More light-hearted than DBZ. As for the new movie…I’ll wait and see. The previous new movie was…um…not bad, but a bit weird. Almost OOC. -shrugs-

As for Gargoyles, I definitely want to pick up those season box sets. There’s just so much I want to pick up though…I have to pick and choose what goes first. I mean…more PYO Windstones, DVD series or manga? And only enough spare money per month for one thing from my list. -sighs- Lol. Anyways, I wish you luck in getting the comics. I’ve heard they’re pretty good. Hopefully they release the third season of Gargoyles soon too.

And even if you don’t like or care for DBZ now, at least it helped get you more into art. So at least there is that. Which is very cool (IMO). 🙂

They may or may not release season 3. It is not technically canon, as it was taken over by a different crew and the show’s creator and mastermind was not part of it. Which is why the animation is so different and the story gets.. sort of a different feel to it. To follow the canon storyline after season 2, you have to read the graphic novels put out by the original creator. Sadly it looks as if they are not being printed right now? Maybe try eBay… Clan Building volumes 1 & 2 are out: http://www.amazon.com/Gargoyles-Clan-Building-Volume-1/dp/1593620969/ref=pd_sim_b_1?ie=UTF8&refRID=11H86XV98KD9MBJ7Z0A1

LOL! I LOVED Gargoyles when I was a kid… er… uh.. more like young adult… and I still do!

Also, Dragonball Z…. classic! LOL! I do like how they released Dragonball Z Kai and have very much compacted all the ridiculous filler into a much better animation while still keeping 90% of the original voice cast. They made it “watchable” again!

                                Got a busted Windstone?

Admittedly I was a big DBZ fan growing up. I.. have any of you watched “DBZ Abridged”? It’s not ‘safe for work’ mostly due to some strong language but it’s seriously my favorite take on the series ever!
You can find it on Youtube but the language is very adult– watch it at home and when no young ones are around if you look it up!
