A suggestion about the GB baby unicorns

I do. It can’t be helped with so many unicorns, but we try to give each one of a similar color different eye and jewel colors so none are exactly the same.
However, there were a few kinds that there was only one or two of in the past batches, usually because they were accidents! That’s what makes it interesting!

Well, that would be the point. You can trade later with those who WANT to trade in the thread Jennifer created AFTER people actually get their grab bags and post their OWN photos.

Doing this might ALSO cut down in the huge amount of orders and how fast they sell out. If you have a little less information on what you MIGHT get, maybe people would buy one instead of buying two or maybe they wouldn’t by from every single batch released which then in turn, gives other people a chance to buy them too, who haven’t had a chance at all.

Again, it’s just a suggestion, but I just really think it would cut down on the dissappointment everyone seems to be having. These are meant to be fun ^_^

I love seeing the group photo beforehand. I just wonder if maybe a bigger batch would be the trick for everyone to get one. The only downside to an even larger batch would be that we wait a lot longer for it to come out.

Well, I’m sure we would ALL love larger batches, but Melody is just one person and I’m pretty sure she paints all of these by herself.

I like the picture posted ahead of time. It makes things far more interesting.

And I dont know why people are suggesting larger batches. How is ‘100’ not a large batch? Even if 50 people got 2 each, 50 is a lot of people! 100 is a lot of unicorns!

The picture is something that should stay. But perhaps it should only be some of them… Like half of a batch of 100. So then there would be another element of mystery. Kind of like there was a pic of the first batch of youngs, but the latter batch that came about two weeks later there was nothing. And there were all SORTS of things we hadnt seen before.

If you want to get a specific color, and the ability to pick it out finding that ‘one’ piece that’s perfect for you…buy a production, lp, or ebay uni. As it is the trade/swap threads are a fantastic way for the unis to shuffle around between collectors.

I agree, I think when people get really set in wanting just one specific unicorn that’s when issues arise. I mean sometimes it works out, Ashley did find the spotted unicorn to match Nebula. I think for the most part people on the forum have been pretty chill about maybe not getting the exact one they wanted (for example lots of people wanted the one calico, or the blue one with white face) and as long as people have that attitude I think things are fine. I haven’t seen anyone act rudely or demanding to get the exact one out of a hundred they wanted, people are looking yes but not being rude. (Then again, I can’t see what goes on in PM’s, lol)

Taking the picture off would indeed reduce the craziness for the unicorns but I love seeing the picture. And I think it’s fun to see the variety.

I don’t know if I agree with the original post about making several of each type. There have been, for example, lots of palominos, buckskins, bay pintos, black pintos, and grey appaloosas. I think Melody’s done well to make lots of each type so that people who hate appaloosas can still find one they like, or people who hate pintos can. I like that some of them are totally one of a kind and odd, like the one young with red eyes.

I think in the end, the way the system is works. The surprise of getting a random one is really thrilling, and even stalking the store for them is sort of thrilling too. 🙂
